Next Rangers Manager Odds: Kevin Muscat Favourite To Replace Philippe Clement
It's seems inevitable that Rangers will be looking for a new manager sooner rather than later.
A disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Dundee United saw Philippe Clement's side fall 11 points behind leaders Celtic in the SPFL table.
Supporters aren't happy with the current situation and the board might have no choice but to make a change of manager in an attempt to save their season.
Rangers have a chance of claiming the first silverware of the season, when they face Celtic in the League Cup final at Hampden Park on December 15.
However, defeat in that showdown could spell the end of Clement, if he is permitted to stay in his job until then.
So who are the candidates most likely to replace Clement? We take a closer look at the best odds from the leading betting sites.
Muscat Remains The Favourite To Replace Clement
Kevin Muscat made 29 appearances for Rangers in 2002/03, his only season with the club.
That turned out to be a memorable campaign at Ibrox, as the Gers won the Premiership, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup.
Muscat, who is the 2/1 favourite, took his first steps in management with a six-year spell at Australian A-League side Melbourne Victory where he replaced Ange Postecoglou, now with Tottenham.
He has been in charge of Shanghai Port since December last year, after leading Yokohama F. Marinos to J1 League glory in 2022.
However, Muscat might not be ready to leave Shanghai as they are still involved in the Asian Champions League.
Time For McInnes To Get His Chance?
Derek McInnes has been linked with the Rangers job for a number of years and it might be his time to lead the team.
His Kilmarnock side are going through a rough spell at the moment, having lost their last three games, including a 1-0 reverse at St Johnstone on Saturday.
McInnes was critical of Celtic supporters for disrespecting Remembrance weekend and the Rangers supporters hold McInnes in high esteem.
McInnes, who is 9/4 second favourite on football betting sites, was at Rangers for five seasons from 1995 to 2000, helping them win the treble in 1999.
Earlier this season, McInnes' Kilmarnock beat Rangers 1-0, a result that reminded the Rangers board how good a manager he is.

Steve Cooper Is Now Available
Steve Cooper is a manager currently available after being sacked by Leicester following their 2-1 defeat at home to Chelsea.
Cooper's time in charge of the Foxes lasted just 12 games and Rangers might be wary of why he wasn't given longer at the King Power Stadium.
If Rangers do respect Cooper as a manager, then he is available at 3/1.
Here's To You Mr Robinson
Stephen Robinson is high on the list of candidates to replace Clement at Ibrox and Rangers might consider giving the Northern Irishman a call.
Robinson has been linked with the job for quite a while and the current St Mirren boss joked that might have been driven by his sons.
Joking aside, Robinson deserves to be in the conversation after making St Mirren a tough team to beat.
After three straight wins, Robinson is 7/2 to be Rangers' next manager.
Benitez Is Available For Rangers Job
Rafael Benitez has been out of a job since leaving Celta Vigo in March after a poor run of results.
The Spaniard loves a challenge and will consider most jobs that need a manager of his calibre, and Rangers fit the bill.
Benitez enjoyed success south of the border with Liverpool and he would be seen as a hero if he can deliver the good times back to Ibrox, but his odds have drifted from 5/2 to 4/1 in recent days.
Southgate May Receive A Call
Gareth Southgate may be ready to return to football management after stepping down following England's defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2024 in Germany.
Southgate (5/1) is in a position where he can wait for the opportunity that feels right to him.
Managing one of the Old Firm clubs is right up there with the England job in terms of scrutiny into every decision made.
Rydstrom Ready For Ibrox Challenge
Henrik Rydstrom may not be a familiar name in Glasgow, but he is one of the brightest managers in Scandinavia right now.
Rydstrom guided Malmo to the Swedish title for the second successive season and the time might be right for him to accept a bigger challenge.
Despite losing 2-0 at home to the Scottish giants in this season's Europa League, the Rangers job is an attractive job for any aspiring manager.
The Swede has gone from 3/1 to 6/1 to be the next Rangers manager.
Gerrard Might Welcome An Ibrox Return
Celtic have dominated the top flight in Scotland, winning the title in 12 of the last 13 seasons. The season they didn't win it was when Steven Gerrard guided Rangers to a rare title.
Gerrard left the following season to become Aston Villa manager and is currently in charge of Saudi side Al-Ettifaq.
The club appointed Michael Beale as his assistant, which might keep Gerrard in Saudi Arabia for the foreseeable future.
A return to Ibrox, where the fans love him, cannot be ruled out. Sooner or later Gerrard will want to return to the UK and knowing the club as well as he does, he might be tempted if Rangers move on from Clement.
The Liverpool and England legend was 8/1 in the next Rangers manager odds in October, but he is now 14/1.
Rangers Or Coventry For Lampard
Frank Lampard will have seen what his former England team-mate Gerrard did when he managed Rangers and think he could replicate that success.
Lampard has been out of management since leaving Chelsea in June 2023, after winning just one of the club's last 11 games at the end of the 2022/23 season.
However, Lampard has been heavily linked with the vacancy at Coventry in the Championship.
The former Blues midfielder has been first-team coach at Chelsea (twice), Everton and Derby, but is 12/1 on betting apps to return to management by taking the Rangers job.
Other names in the conversation include current Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen (8/1), ex-Rangers midfielder and caretaker-manager Steven Davis (13/2) and former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson (10/1).
