Rangers are on the lookout for a new manager and betting sites believe there are a number of names in the frame.

Michael Beale was dismissed at the weekend following a 3-1 home defeat by Aberdeen. 

That result was Rangers’ third defeat in seven Premiership games, leaving them outside the first two positions in Scotland’s top flight.

Rangers also fell short in the Champions League qualification play-offs, going down 7-3 to PSV on aggregate - although they did win their first match of the Europa League group phase against Real Betis.

Beale is therefore out of work after just 10 months at the helm of the Glaswegian giants, who will be looking to appoint a replacement as soon as possible.

Despite his difficulties in west London, Potter is an excellent football coach. He proved that at Swansea City and Brighton & Hove Albion, and will be an asset to whichever club he joins next. 

Brendan Rodgers, Steven Gerrard and Ange Postecoglou have moved from Old Firm clubs to attractive Premier League jobs in recent times, and Potter may be eyeing a similar career arc.

Kevin Muscat: A Close Look At The Odds For The Next Rangers Manager Position

As a notoriously aggressive player, Kevin Muscat was left out of the Rangers team for Old Firm games because he was deemed too much of a risk. 

The former Australia international (mostly) cuts a calmer figure on the touchline these days and Muscat is priced at 4/1 to take the Rangers post. 

He began his career with a six-year spell in charge of Melbourne Victory, replacing Postecoglou in that role. He is now managing another of former Postecoglou’s clubs, Yokohoma F. Marinos in Japan.

Muscat won the J1 League title in 2022 and the Japanese Super Cup earlier this year. 

He would be a fascinating pick as the next Rangers boss, and Postecoglou’s success at Celtic should reduce the uncertainty over appointing someone without any substantial managerial experience in Europe.

The Odds Are In: Knutsen And Jones Dominate Next Rangers Manager Predictions 

Kjetil Knutsen has been linked with a number of jobs in Britain over the last few years, but he remains with Bodo/Glimt for now. 

In charge of the Norwegian outfit since 2018, he has won two league titles and led the team in European competition.

Knutsen is an innovative coach who was a contender to take over at Celtic earlier this year. He is available at odds of 5/1 with BetVictor to be the next head coach of the Gers.

Priced at 6/1 is Nathan Jones, who is currently out of work and therefore more easily obtainable than some of the other names on this list. 

Jones did some fine work across two spells at Luton Town, but both of his other jobs - at Stoke City and Southampton - did not go well. That will concern the Rangers board.

Brown left his first managerial job at Fleetwood Town earlier this year and he may fancy a return to Scotland next.

Davis has not formally hung up his boots yet, but he could be willing to do so if he was offered the job on a full-time basis. The former Southampton man is priced at 12/1 with betting apps.

Ralph Hasenhuttl, listed at 14/1, would be a coup, but there is no indication that he is interested in the position.
