Olympics 2024: Great Britain's Best Bets For Gold In Paris
Great Britain's athletes have descended on Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games, and betting sites have been busy pricing up some of the mammoth 329 events across 32 sports.
In a matter of days, there will be new heroes and heroines discovered in the French capital, as the superstars battle it out to win gold.
Team GB took home 64 medals at Tokyo 2020 - which took place in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic - and 22 of those were gold.
But if the market is anything to go by, Great Britain may have to manage expectations in Paris.
Team GB are just 13/20 with Unibet to land more than 15.5 gold medals this time around, while under 15.5 golds is 11/10 with the same bookmaker.
What's more, it's just 3/4 with Unibet that Great Britain cannot match their Tokyo heights and finish with 62.5 or fewer medals, and 19/20 for over 62.5 or more podium finishes.
But who will be the Team GB stars of 2024?
GB's Golden Girl
Keely Hodgkinson is Great Britain's brightest hope to take home gold in Paris.
At 4/11 with BetVictor to triumph in the Women's 800 metres, Hodgkinson is the shortest priced Team GB individual Olympian to top the podium in France.
Britain wowed on the cycling tracks in Tokyo, winning six golds, and Joshua Tarling will be hoping he can secure another at Paris 2024.
He is just 10/11 on Olympics betting sites to win gold in the time trial event, while Team GB also have ample athletics prospects.
Matt Hudson-Smith and Alex Yee lead the charge, with the former 5/4 with BoyleSports for the Men's 400 metres crown, while Yee is 13/10 with the same bookmaker to claim Men's triathlon glory.
Josh Kerr is another track star who will be looking to win gold.
He is 2/1 with BetVictor to finish first in the Men's 1,500 metres, but he faces a mouth-watering clash with Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who is odds-on favourite.
In the pool, Team GB won four swimming golds at the 2020 Games, including one for Adam Peaty in the Men's 100 metres breaststroke.
Peaty is just 11/8 with Betfred to repeat the feat at Paris 2024.

Molly Pushing For Pole Vault Victory
Molly Caudery confirmed her place at this summer's Games just last month when she won gold at the 2024 British Athletics Championships.
One of Team GB's newest athletics stars, Caudery has had a breakthrough year and is targeting a podium finish at the Olympics.
She said recently: "There's definitely a big part of me now that, if things go to plan, I know that I can get a medal."
Caudery is just 15/8 on specials betting sites to go all the way and leap to pole vault victory.
Sprinter Dina Asher-Smith has two Olympic relay bronze medals, at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, on her CV and she is 20/1 with Betfred to achieve an individual gold in this summer's Women's 200 metres, and 40/1 with the same bookmaker for 100 metres victory.
Elsewhere, Lottie Fry is 9/2 with Boylesports to win the Equestrian individual dressage, and 8/1 shot Joe Choong could have an outside chance in the modern pentathlon.
What's more, Delicious Orie will be hoping to chow down on his opponents in the Men's +92kg boxing.
Orie is 16/1 with Betfred to grapple to glory, but Uzbek odds-on favourite Bakhodir Jalolov could stand in his way.
The Men's Gymnastics team, which includes Max Whitlock and Jake Jarman, could also have their work cut out. They are 5/1 chances with Unibet to win the team event, behind 6/4 favourites Japan.
Team GB's Golf Glory?
One area of the Games where Team GB certainly have some solid propositions is in the men's and women's golf tournaments.
Tommy Fleetwood is Britain's best hope at 20/1 with Bet365, but he and Matthew Fitzpatrick (35/1) are likely to find it tough to overcome American market leaders Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.
Schauffele scooped gold at Tokyo 2020 and both he and world number one Scheffler are single-figure prices on betting apps to clinch victory this summer.
In the women's event, Team GB's Charley Hull is 25/1 with most UK bookmakers, and Georgia Hall is a 50/1 chance with Unibet, but US star Nelly Korda - who won gold in Tokyo - is a worthy 6/1 favourite to retain her title.
Big Names Representing British Hopes
On the tennis court, British number one women's singles player Katie Boulter has an outside chance of Olympics glory.
She is 125/1 with Unibet to smash her way to victory, while Team GB's male hopes are dominated by an off-the-court story.
Sir Andy Murray revealed this week he is to hang up his racquet after Paris 2024, and it doesn't look like being a golden goodbye if the prices are anything to go by.
Murray is as big as 200/1 with 10Bet to win the men's tournament, while fellow Brits Jack Draper and Cameron Norrie are both 150/1 shots.
Other big name stars representing Team GB include Tom Daley - who is partnered by Noah Williams in the 10 metres synchronized platform diving - and Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who takes part in the heptathlon.
They have previously been there or thereabouts, but there aren't any prices on either winning gold at the time of writing.
