The BetMGM Ontario Sportsbook is officially available. The operator was among the top ON new betting sites to go live this year, after obtaining licensing from the province's Alcohol and Gaming Commission. It is safe to say that BetMGM can now officially serve Ontario sports bettors.

While conducting other reviews of the BetMGM Sportsbook, we've noticed that it typically offers 24–35 markets in the average state. It currently features at least 25 markets in Ontario, given the large size of this province (14.6m). By comparison, most betting sites cover 20–24 betting markets.

BetMGM Sportsbook Ontario offers all common bet types, including moneylines, spreads, totals, parlays, live wagers and futures. Therefore, you'll enjoy plenty of options when wagering here.

BetMGM really excels in terms of banking options. It accepts ACH, bank transfer, cash, Mastercard, Play+ Card, PayNearMe, Skrill and Visa in most markets. Withdrawal options include ACH, bank transfer, cash, Play+ and Skrill.

BetMGM Canada offers most of the same banking methods available. Interac is probably a special addition to the Ontario sports betting market.

The BetMGM mobile app offers a solid experience overall, with a clean layout and fast-loading pages. It also provides helpful features, including My Bets, A–Z Sports and a search bar (scroll to the right). BetMGM Ontario app has the same tools.

Our only issue with the app is that live chat is hard to find. You need to dig through multiple pages of Q&As to reach live chat. Other than this problem, though, BetMGM offers one of the better canadian betting apps on the market.

The BetMGM website provides security in the form of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL ensures Canadian bettors that their personal and financial details won't get stolen. BetMGM also instills trust through its many licenses across America. It has successfully passed vetting processes in 17 states thanks to its strong brand reputation.

BetMGM figures to compete with the top Ontario sportsbook apps. Its closest competitors should be Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel - the three best-known brands besides MGM. We actually have BetMGM rated higher (36/40) than this bunch, with DraftKings (35/40) providing the closest competition.

We didn't find any groundbreaking features during our Ontario BetMGM Sportsbook review. However, we did enjoy the mixture of features here. Early cash out is a nice option for when you want to guarantee winnings, or at least minimize losses. The search bar helps you quickly find a market or team.

BetMGM Ontario provides a wide variety of bet types, particularly for those who enjoy NFL betting. The most popular of these wagers include live sports betting, parlays, futures, totals and spread betting. Live wagering (a.k.a. in play betting) prove popular due to the aforementioned soft odds. Sometimes the in-house oddsmakers release live betting lines that really favour you.

The BetMGM Sportsbook Ontario app is available for both iOS and Android devices. We downloaded the iOS version and found the experience to be largely enjoyable. The app runs smoothly and doesn't have any lag. Our only mild problem involved wading through multiple Q&A pages to locate live chat.

BetMGM isn't lacking in deposit methods. It lets you fund your account using everything from cash to an e-wallet. This online sportsbook also provides more than enough ways to cash out.

This operator doesn't offer daily fantasy sports betting in any market where it operates. Therefore, it's highly unlikely to provide DFS in this province either.

Up until 2021, Canada didn't have any sports betting regulations beyond allowing legal parlay bets. However, the national government changed this last year by legalizing single event sports betting. Ontario responded by becoming the first province to pass a regulated sports betting act on single events.

The Loyalist Province is now set to lead the Canadian regulated market. It has the country's biggest population and a first-mover advantage. BetMGM Canada figures to make the most money here versus any other province.

The Ontario betting market is still laying the groundwork and issuing licenses. BetMGM ON was among the first operators to complete the licensing process. It hasn't really had a chance to develop partnerships with local professional franchises.

Now that it has officially entered the market, it'll have plenty of options to choose from. The Toronto Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Argonauts and FC are all possibilities.

BetMGM Betting Locations in Ontario

At this time, it is not for sure if BetMGM will open any retail locations in this province. However, MGM Resorts International does operate many properties throughout America. MGM Grand Detroit, for example, is just across the water from Windsor.

MGM Resorts has no shortage of major cities to launch a retail sportsbook. Toronto (5.65m) and the Ottawa-Gastineau area (1.07m) are both large urban areas. Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Oshawa and Windsor could also draw consideration.

It boasts a prestigious brand, 25 markets in the province and a strong mobile app. We would like the live chat option to be more accessible. Other than this minor drawback, though, BetMGM looks like a winner in the Ontario market.
