Best Bets to Make for Tonight's Canada vs. Honduras Nations League Match
After a 4-0 win against Curacao, Canada will look to get another win under its belt in the CONCACAF Nations League when it travels to the Estadio Olimpico in San Pedro Sula at 10 p.m. ET today, where a struggling Honduras side awaits.
To get you ready for your soccer betting, we’ll look at the wagers to watch for the final Canada game of the summer.
Alphonso Davies to Score and Win
Canada is back in the win column after a loss to Panama shortly after qualifying for the World Cup.
A big reason for the loss to Panama was because Alphonso Davies was out with injury, and it’s no surprise to see he was the main man in the recent victory over Curacao.
Davies, who plays professionally for FC Bayern Munich, scored twice that day, one from the penalty spot and one from open play.
Shortly after his second goal in the 71st minute, Davies was taken out for rest. Now, he’s set to start once more for Canada and he will be in search of goal No. 13 from just 31 caps.
He’s Canada’s main man, and in truth, he’s probably the best player in North America right now.
Jonathan David To Have Two+ Shots on Target
Although Jonathan David didn’t get on the scoresheet like Davies did, he still had two shots on target and was a threat to Curacao throughout the game.
Against Honduras, he’ll be eager to get another goal to add to his excellent record with Canada.
David had another excellent year in Europe with Lille, despite the French side losing its Ligue 1 title with a torrid 10th-placed finish.
Even with his team finishing nine places lower, it was actually a better season than the previous one for David. He improved on his 13 league goals from last season with 15 this time around.
What’s more, the Canada star already has 20 goals from just 31 caps, and with Davies closing in on that record slightly, we expect the Lille striker to come back with a bang in this one.
David also scored against Honduras earlier this year in a 2-0 win.
Canada to Win and Over 2.5 Goals in the Game
Canada is facing a Honduras team that recently lost 2-1 last week to Curacao, a team the Canadians beat 4-0
Honduras has also lost to Jamaica, Mexico, the United States, Colombia, and El Salvador already in 2022.
This means it has won one game out of nine this year to date.
Four of those nine games have also seen over 2.5 goals come in, and although Canada only beat Honduras 2-0 earlier in the year, John Herdman's men are now in much greater form.
