Cascades Casino North Bay Opens in Ontario

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited announced Wednesday that they will be opening Cascades Casino North Bay at 300 Pinewood Park Drive in Ontario.

Cascades Casino Opens After COVID Delays

The new $41 million, 39,000 square-foot Ontario casino will feature 300 slots, six table games, 10 virtual tables, and the restaurant MATCH Eatery & Public House, a Gateway signature brand.

Cascades opens after political debate and construction delays because of COVID-19, and will be creating 200 new jobs.

The brand, according to Gateway, is built around the “design inspiration of “Play”, and has properties in Chatham, Ontario, Langley, Kamloops, and Penticton, BC.

The signature MATCH Eatery & Public House restaurant, according to Gateway, will offer “the welcoming experience of a neighbourhood pub with the high energy and excitement of a sports bar, plus live entertainment.”

More Than Just for Gamblers

The restaurant will not be limited to casino goers, as the menu is aimed to also welcome families and children, and will also have a “beautiful and spacious” outdoor patio and three different dining experiences that are catered to the summer, spring, and fall.

"You don't necessarily have to gamble to have a good time," Rob Mitchell, the director of communications and public affairs for Gateway Casinos, said in a news release.

"That's critical to our business model and that's what distinguishes us from our competition, the fact that we're able to offer something for just about everyone."

"This is an exciting and long-awaited day for North Bay, Gateway Casinos and all our customers and employees, “Gateway CEO Tony Santo said in the release. “This new attraction is testimony to the resiliency and determination of many over the past two years as the pandemic created many challenges. Today we unveil a state-of-the-art entertainment destination that families and friends can enjoy from all around the region,"

Partnered with OLG, which just recently released new online casino games, Gateway deploys the PlaySmart program and will “continue to implement responsible gambling initiatives at all properties across Canada.”

There will be an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at Cascades Casino North Bay later this spring.
