CFL Betting Advice: Put on Your Thinking Caps This week
The ninth week of the 2022 CFL season gets started tonight. Let’s look at the four-game weekend schedule to get you ready for your CFL betting.
CFL Betting Advice: Against The Spread!
Apologies to all the Canadian Sports Bettors again for picking against Winnipeg. The Blue Bombers found a way to pull off a fourth-quarter comeback against Calgary. On the bright side, the Over connected.
With Week 9 here, there is no signature matchup. We have a “Game Of The Week” anyway.
It is time to find some prime bets while looking at the games. Below is the CFL Week 9 Schedule.
This Week’s Schedule with Moneylines (All Times Eastern)
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1.45) at Montreal Alouettes (2.90), Today, 7:30 p.m.
- Calgary Stampeders (1.47) at Ottawa Redblacks (2.79), Friday, 7:30 p.m.
- Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2.10) at Toronto Argonauts (1.77), Saturday, 7:00 p.m.
- Edmonton Elks (5.00) at British Columbia Lions (1.19), Sunday, 10 p.m.
Game of the Week
Winnipeg Blue Bombers 1.45 at Montreal Alouettes 2.90
This game will be one of the toughest ones to gauge. Winnipeg comes in at 8-0 after another big win on the road in Calgary this time. The Blue Bombers keep finding ways to win when by all rights, they should not.
The Over hit for the third time in eight Winnipeg games this season.
The Blue Bombers are now at an astonishing 6-2 against the spread. For Ontario Sports Bettors, 75% is a ridiculous number. Is it sustainable? That answer is no.
Winnipeg took advantage of a Calgary defense that heard footsteps last week. Give Zach Collaros and company a ton of credit. Simply, they found a way again.
Montreal suffered a tough loss in Week 8, dropping to 2-5. Even the Under reared its ugly head for the second time in 2022. Again, Montreal can put up some points, but the clunker last week against Hamilto is hard to ignore.
Take Winnipeg and the spread here and consider the Under as well.
Best Bet of the Week
Edmonton Elks 5.00 at British Columbia Lions 1.19
The Over on the slate has been good for some teams. So, the best news here is that British Columbia has connected on the Over in four of their six games. It has the added luxury of two bye weeks.
Will it put up 59 points at home like in Week 1 against Edmonton? That answer is likely no. However, the Elks’ defense has aided the Over in converting five of seven times this season.
Straying from the moneyline is a simple way to look at this tilt. The Over remains reachable at 51.5. Anything much above 52 would be too high likely. Even the 10.5-point spread is not that intimidating.
British Columbia is one fun team to watch and can put up points quickly. Again, look to the team Over as a possibility if the numbers open up.
Pick the Over, Canadian bettors.
