CFL Betting Advice: Against The Spread!

Week 13 blessed Canadian sports bettors with a pretty solid week. It was not all too bad, but this weekend features one game on Friday night and then three games on Saturday.

Will British Columbia bounce back offensively after acquiring their new quarterback? Can Saskatchewan upset Winnipeg? Let’s find out.

With Week 14 nearby, let’s try to lift Ontario Sports Bettors’ spirits while diving into the games. Here is the CFL Week 14 Schedule.

This Week’s Schedule with Moneylines (All Times Eastern)

  • British Columbia Lions 1.57 at Montreal Alouettes 2.45, Friday, 7:30 p.m.
  • Toronto Argonauts 1.77 at Ottawa Redblacks 2.10, Saturday, 2 p.m.
  • Saskatchewan Rough Riders 3.44 at Winnipeg Blue Bombers 1.34, Saturday, 5 p.m.
  • Calgary Stampeders 1.25 at Edmonton Elks 4.26, Saturday, 8 p.m.

Game of the Week

Saskatchewan Rough Riders 3.44 at Winnipeg Blue Bombers 1.34

This game gets even more difficult to figure. Winnipeg had problems covering the spread against Calgary, and then struggled to beat Saskatchewan. If we had not gotten the -1.5 point teaser, we would have lost with the Under parlay.

Saskatchewan did hold down Winnipeg enough. The Rough Riders yielded a mere 20 points at home. Unfortunately, they scored just 18 themselves. The Blue Bombers had to feel fortunate to escape with a win. Winnipeg has been playing with fire for about a month now.

Winnipeg is now 7-5 against the spread. It has the league’s best defense, allowing 19.1 points per game. At this point, there might be only one safe wager. Canadian Sports Bettors may just abandon hope for an offensive explosion here.

The Rough Riders have looked better lately but are still 6-6 on the season. Heads are going to roll if this continues. The likelihood of another hard-nosed defensive battle is high and on the horizon.

The defense is the way for sports bettors in a matchup where both teams want to play stingy. Even with that Over at 44.5, expect a game where 40 points might be around the high end again.

Bet the Under with Saskatchewan getting 7.5 points, and pray again.

Crazy Bet of the Week

Calgary Stampeders 1.25 at Edmonton Elks 4.26

While we believe in Toronto covering and winning at Ottawa on Saturday afternoon, our focus shifts to Edmonton. By now, the Elks have become a bit of a punchline. They have won three games on the road. However, they are 0-5 at home and 0-8 against the West.

Calgary did not cover last week against Edmonton, winning by eight points on the road. It came down to a one-possession game as the Elks could keep things close. Defensively, the Elks yielded two scores in the third quarter. Other than that, Edmonton played well.

Edmonton has a shot here to pull off an outright upset. It is nuts. The Elks have a knack for staying in contests lately.

Roll with the Edmonton Elks on Saturday night at 4.26. If one feels less comfortable, look to that +10.5 points as that will keep things more conservative for wagerers.
