CFL Picks: Teams Playing for Pride and Welcome Back Nathan Rourke
The final week of the 2022 CFL season gets underway on Friday night again as October closes. The playoff matchups are now set.
So, naturally, here comes the four-game weekend schedule to get you ready for your CFL.
CFL Betting Advice: Going Against The Spread!
Week 20, for Canadian sports bettors, worked well as the props and the picks helped us post a tidy profit.
This weekend is different. Don't go crazy with betting units. Teams are resting players, and others are playing their starters for small chunks of time. Results may be all over the place.
Here is our ATS Table as Week 21 approaches.
Ontario sports bettors and their bottom lines should at least monitor what happens this weekend. Here is the CFL Week 21 Schedule.
This Week’s Schedule with Moneylines (All Times Eastern)

- Montreal Alouettes +3.0 (1.91) at Toronto Argonauts -3.0 (1.91), Saturday, 2 p.m.

“Ode To Alouettes”
Montreal Alouettes at Toronto Argonauts
For Canadian sports bettors, this may be the most difficult weekend to wager on the CFL. Numbers are all over the place. There are no moneylines by the way. Who would want to wager straight-up anyway?
There are two out of three parts. There are spreads and the Over/Under still is on for this weekend’s action. That is, at least, some good news. Toronto ultimately will await the winner of Montreal and Hamilton. They play on Nov. 6 in the Eastern Semifinal.
Meanwhile, the Argonauts and Alouettes play one more time with little more than pride on the line in Week 21. Toronto narrowly held on to win last week 24-23 but failed to cover. It was nice to go 3-0 ATS last week. That rarely happens in the CFL.
Again, Montreal wants to finish at .500. There is little doubt about that. Toronto does not care at this point. The starters will likely play a tiny bit and then get the next two weeks to prepare. Funny enough, Montreal is still getting 3.0 points here. That seems hard to believe but hey, is this a gift horse, as they say?
Bet Montreal with the three points. They covered last week and should do so this week along with winning outright.
Welcome Back Rourke!
British Columbia Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Yes, Nathan Rourke has been medically cleared to play after lisfranc surgery. The British Columbia quarterback suffered the injury in Week 11. There was doubt he could make it back by the Grey Cup and yet here he is. The Lions’ signal-caller is a full three weeks ahead of schedule.
How much he plays is anyone’s guess. However, the wave of adrenaline coursing through him and his teammates may just be enough to not only cover the +3.5 points but the Lions could win this one outright. If the Over gets to 50 or below, consider that also.
