Great Canadian Gaming Corporation Rebrands to Great Canadian Entertainment

Great Canadian Gaming Corporation announced its new rebrand this week, now going by Great Canadian Entertainment.

Why Change the Name?

According to Great Canadian, the new name reflects "the company's strategy to set a new industry standard for gaming entertainment in Canada."

The rebrand also includes a new corporate website and a rewards program, Great Canadian Rewards. The rewards program will cover its 12 Ontario locations.

"Our new rewards program and brand launch reflect our number one priority to offer a first-class gaming and entertainment experience for our guests," Tony Rodio, Chief Executive Officer, Great Canadian, said in a news release.

Players who engage with the loyalty program will include "a mix of new benefits and premium choice partners for a superior gaming experience."

Product Upgrades Coming

Alongside the launch of this rebrand, website, and rewards program, Great Canadian is making "significant investments and upgrades" across Ontario, including Casino Woodbine, which is scheduled to launch in 2023.

Additionally, Great Canadian is expanding Pickering Casino Resort later this year.

"Diversifying our amenities, by way of additional hotels, entertainment venues, and more food and beverage offerings, elevates the guest experience while making a significant, positive economic impact in the communities where we operate," Matt Anfinson, Chief Operating Officer, Great Canadian, said in the release.

"We're very excited about our new corporate strategy and the investments we have in progress, and those to come."

Great Canadian Expansion

Across the country, Great Canadian has 25 locations. As part of the upgrades, Casino Woodbine is "undergoing redevelopment and expansion."

When this expansion and upgrading are complete, Casino Woodbine, located in Toronto, will have the following features and amenities:

  • 400-room hotel
  • Entertainment venue with 5,000 seats
  • Expanded gaming floor
  • Food and beverage options

As for the Ontario-based Pickering Casino Resort, patrons will see these improvements:

  • 275-room hotel
  • Entertainment venue with 2,500 seats
  • Additional food and beverage options

"We're extremely proud of our new offerings and what is about to come. Our new brand and rewards program reflect our clear vision for the company's future. We want to give our guests a sought-after destination and entertainment experience that ups the ante for the gaming industry in Canada," Rodio said.
