Look To Winnipeg For NHL Betting Opportunities As Season Ends
The NHL has a five-game schedule as the final week of the regular season continues.
Wednesday is the day that decides the Stanley Cup playoff combatants.
Here is the preview for tonight.
Winnipeg Stays Home The Rest Of The Week
With NHL betting playoff proceedings mostly decided after Tuesday, the rest of this week has a different feel to it. This now becomes more about getting ready for the playoffs.
Attempting to figure out which players and teams are motivated is almost impossible. This becomes more about just getting lucky.
Ironically, it is also why a lot of fantasy leagues do not play that last week. Bettors are kind of the same way. Once things are settled playoff-wise, wagering takes a backseat until the second season.
This is where tossing just a few dollars on some fun bets becomes interesting.
It is hard to trust much with Winnipeg Jets-Philadelphia Flyers game, but the theory is that Over at 6.5 goals is right around 1.95 to 2.00.
The Flyers and Jets are not very defensive-minded at this point. They just want to get to the end of the regular season.
Early trends seem to be split with the 6.5 goals for the Over.
One of the big problems in predictions is that we can toss in this wrinkle. What if we combine a Kyle Connor anytime goal with a Winnipeg win?
Take a look at this type of parlay as a possibility. The plus-money is at 3.00, but may shorten as game time approaches.
As for the game itself, Winnipeg wants to win out in front of their home crowd, and Philadelphia honestly could care less. They want a top draft pick. Losing helps that.
Again, that parlay with the Jets’ win and a Connor goal is worth a look.
Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Rangers
The Montreal Canadiens face an angry New York Rangers team on Wednesday night. Montreal stands at 51 points, which puts the Habs in a tie with the Arizona Coyotes for 31st in the NHL.
With Montreal not starting Carey Price (knee issues), the Canadiens' side of the ledger has shot prop bets and point props for Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.
After that, it is probably wise to stay far away from this game. Sometimes, less is more.
