Raptors Insights

The NBA trade deadline came and went yesterday, with the Raptors making a few moves, just not the ones that were expected. The Raptors sent Otto Porter, Kira Lewis, and a 2024 first round pick to the Utah Jazz for 6-foot-11, 240-pound Canadian PF Kelly Olynyk (8.1 point average, 5.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 56.2 FG%) and G Ochai Agbaji (5.4 points per game, 2.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 42.6 FG%) then traded point guard Dennis Schroder and forward Thad Young to the Brooklyn Nets for Spencer Dinwiddie, who was then waived by the team.

SF Bruce Brown and PF Chris Boucher, rumored to be heading out, were retained. Probable starters for tonight are SG RJ Barrett - who scored a team-high 23 points, with six rebounds, five assists, and one block Wednesday night in the team’s last game, a 123-117 win over Charlotte – SF Scottie Barnes, C Jakob Poeltl, SG Gary Trent Jr., and PG Immanuel Quickley. Not yet sure if Olynyk and Agbaji will suit up tonight.

Rockets Insights

The Rockets will be without former Raptor PG Fred VanVleet tonight, out with a thigh injury, in what’s his first game back in Toronto since signing with the Rockets as a free agent last summer. F Tony Eason (lower leg) and C Steve Adams (knee) also won’t play tonight.
