The NHL has 10 games on this Monday night slate, six involving Canadian teams. Yes, the American Thanksgiving week schedule is upon us. With an inverted schedule, the busy nights are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. This should be fun.

Monday is here! Let’s roll!

Edmonton Oilers at New Jersey Devils

It is nice to enjoy games like this. Edmonton and New Jersey are high-flying teams that love to trade scoring chances. When it comes to high-danger scoring chances, the Oilers and Devils are among the top-six teams creating those opportunities.

New Jersey is on a 12-game winning streak, facing Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Edmonton's balanced offence includes Jesper Bratt, Nico Hischier, and Jack Hughes.

The goaltenders figure to be Vitek Vanecek for New Jersey and Jack Campbell for Edmonton. This will be a rare Monday night treat. Can Vanecek and Campbell do it again?

How will this game play out? That is a big question mark. Expect some fireworks from both teams

Calgary Flames at Philadelphia Flyers

The Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers square off tonight just after 7 p.m. ET. This expects to be a physical affair as the Flames are starting to get contributions from Nazem Kadri and Jonathan Huberdeau. Maybe Huberdeau was hurt in the early portion of the season after all.

It is early, but Philadelphia is starting to come back to reality. After six straight losses, the Flyers have tumbled back to .500. Carter Hart has been incredible in goal, but only he can against an onslaught of shots and scoring chances. Hart has allowed 19 goals in his last five starts. Calgary has a blueprint, and that is to attack early and often.

Calgary suffers from some decreasing value here. That is not their fault. This is a product of the Flyers' fading. A 1.79 number for Calgary in regulation is far better than the 1.48 Moneyline. Look toward those Kadri and Huberdeau shot props, among other ideas too.

Calgary’s team Over is another target, along with the Total too. At 6.5, the betting may push this one to 7.0.

New York Islanders at Toronto Maple Leafs

The games one cannot figure out can prove to be a crazy tilt. Toronto has looked much better in November while losing just once in regulation. They are 6-1-3 in their last ten games, while John Tavares and Auston Matthews have been their best players. It is totally how it was drawn up circa 2021.

Then, there are the New York Islanders. New York has dropped back-to-back games coming into this tilt. Ilya Sorokin will start this game for the Islanders, while Matt Murray is projected for the Maple Leafs. Murray has looked much better of late too. He has yielded just seven goals in three starts (2-0-1 record).

Even Islander fans must wonder how they match up against the Maple Leafs. Since the pandemic, Toronto has won four straight contests and outscored New York 13-3. Again, Tavares, Matthews, and the Toronto power play have figured prominently in those results. Simply, the Islanders need an edge. That may be easier said than done, as Toronto is one of the better teams in terms of scoring chances allowed.

Toronto must push the tempo from the beginning. New York’s bottom six usually gives the Maple Leafs more trouble in these games than anyone else. Solving Sorokin early will be vital for Toronto, who has value in shot and point props. The Moneyline may be something to stay away from for Ontario Sports Bettors.

Vegas Golden Knights at Vancouver Canucks

This will not be easy for Vancouver. The Vegas Golden Knights generate the most high-danger chances in the NHL. Vancouver is among the worst in allowing these chances and ranks dead last on the penalty kill. The Canucks may be stabilizing again after another downturn. Meanwhile, Vegas, under Bruce Cassidy, is red hot. The Golden Knights are 14-4-1 and 7-2-1 in their last ten games.

Vancouver defensively will give up tons of shots, too, introducing shot props into the equation. Facing the likes of Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and Jonathan Marchessault figures not to be fun. Logan Thompson and Thatcher Demko expect to be the goaltenders in this game.

Vegas in regulation is attractive at 2.08. However, going Vancouver the other way stands at 2.67. Talk about some potential to try and squeeze a little more value.
