Upcoming Raptors vs. Suns
The Raptors are coming off a 115-103 loss to the Brooklyn Nets last night, their second loss in a row, a game where their starters lacked energy throughout the game. But they did get some production from their bench players, a challenge for most of the season so far.
That loss puts the Raptors at 8-10, 11th in the NBA’s Eastern Conference – and this is a team that will likely hover around the .500 mark for the season and look to sneak into the NBA’s play-in seeding. They’re now a half-game behind the Atlanta Hawks and 1.5 games behind ninth-place Brooklyn.
The Suns are fourth in the Western Conference – 11-6, currently on a seven-game winning. Plus they got to rest last night.
G Devin Booker dominated in the Suns’ last game – Sunday in New York, going in as underdogs, beating the Knicks 116-113. Booker had 28 points, and was a +15, including hitting a three-pointer with 1.7 seconds left to win the game. The Suns shot 46.2 in field goal percentage, 42.1 per cent from three-point range in that game.
PF Kevin Durant (foot) is listed as questionable to play. SG Grayson Allen (illness) is also listed as questionable. C Christian Koloko (illness) is still out for the Raptors.
As Michael Grange wrote in Sportsnet.ca this morning, it will be interesting to watch how Raptors’ head coach Darko Rajakovic starts to use his bench going forward. He’s gone with a ten-man rotation over the season so far, but Toronto’s bench production has been far from elite. Does he start to shorten that to nine (Raptors’ former coach Nick Nurse played an eight-man rotation last season), if the losses pile up?

NBA Toronto Raptors vs. Phoenix Suns: Outcome Prediction #1
Suns to win, factoring in their win streak, and the Raptors’ fatigue factor, coming off that loss in the Brooklyn last night, nine games in 14 days.

NBA Toronto Raptors vs. Phoenix Suns: Over/Under Prediction #2
According to Pinnacle, O/U is 226.5. The Suns have been scoring 117.1 points per game, seventh in the league. There’s no reason to think they’ll let the foot off the gas against a Toronto team that’s averaging 111.4 points per game, ninth last in the NBA – and are allowing an average of 112.6 points per game, 18th in the NBA, on a back-to-back. Raptors are allowing 47.2 per cent in average field goals made, 13th worst in the NBA, and the Suns have averaged 47.8 per cent in FG. The Over is a good call.

NBA Toronto Raptors vs. Phoenix Suns: Prop Bets Prediction #3
If Durant plays – Over 2.5 Three Point Field Goals (2.47), Under 2.5 Three Point Field Goals (1.49). Durant has some extra inspiration against the Raptors since the 2019 NBA Finals, when he was with Golden State, tore his Achilles, and the Toronto fans’ reaction as he was led off the court. Go with the Over – if he plays.
Raptors’ Pascal Siakam Over 5.5 Assists (2.13). Siakam has bought into Rajakovic’s faster, more freely, ball-moving offence.
More Pinnacle odds for Raptors vs. Suns
The better NBA bet might be on the Spread – Suns -3, especially if Durant plays. Keep an eye for updates on that today. Raptors F Scottie Barnes, after a hot start, has cooled of late.
As a comparable this morning, here are other sports betting sites' odds for the game:
- NorthStar Bets has the Moneyline at Suns 1.71, Raptors 2.20;
- PointsBet Canada it’s Suns 1.69, Raptors 2.20.
