Though Canada is out of 2022 World Cup contention, the team is set to play its last game on Thursday before the end of Group F in Qatar.

It's pretty much guaranteed that the Maple Leafs will finish bottom of the group unless they can overturn a dramatic goals difference margin against Morocco and get a win in the process.

However, given how the Atlas Lions have everything to play for, this is far from an easy game for Canada. Take a look at our betting preview and picks for Morocco against Canada in the final Group F game.

Could Canada Go Out With a Bang?

After failing to score a goal at the 1986 World Cup, at the very least Canada has got off the mark at a World Cup after Alphonso Davies’ fantastic header against Croatia. It slightly made up for his penalty miss against Belgium, but with a 4-1 loss in the end against Croatia, his goal was nothing but consolation for the nation.

Now up against Morocco, however, Canada has nothing to lose. It has come charging out of the blocks from the opening whistle in the last two games, but in both matches so far, Canada has quickly been brought back down to earth and lost control of both the games in Group F.

With nothing to lose this time, things could be different for Canada. If anyone is to have a say, it’s going to be Jonathan David. The Lille striker has scored nine league goals in 15 games.

Everything on the Line for Morocco

As Canada is set to head home regardless of the outcome, all attention turns to Morocco. Against all odds, the Atlas Lions have beaten Belgium 2-0 and now come into this game knowing that a tie is all they need to advance.

What’s more, they are looking like a solid team both offensively and defensively. In fact, Morocco is yet to concede a goal at this World Cup and has scored two goals after the 2-0 victory over Belgium.

Youssef En-Nesyri is one goalscorer for Morocco who hasn’t been at his best this World Cup, but now may be his time to shine after goals from defender Romain Saiss and forward Zakaria Aboukhlal.

Best Bet for the Game

This could be a game where Canada gets a decent result. A tie would be commendable, and it would mean its best results at a World Cup in history.

Nevertheless, with so much on the line for Morocco, we think it’s the Atlas Lions who will get all three points and send Canada home with no points at another World Cup.

Although the likes of David and Davies will have a lot to prove in this game, Morocco to win 2-0 sounds like a sensible scoreline, especially after such a fantastic defensive record from the first two games.
