Wimbledon 2024 Odds: Which Stars Will Be In The Royal Box For Finals Day?

It must be summer because Wimbledon is back, even if the weather doesn't always play ball.

UK betting sites are rife with punters backing Carlos Alcaraz to retain his men's crown, and Iga Swiatek or Emma Raducanu, among others, to win the women's championship.

But there is also interest in which stars will turn out to watch this year's finals.

The tournament set a big star-studded precedent on day one when the likes of David Beckham and Sir David Attenborough watched the action unfold from the Royal Box.

Day two featured Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, and his wife Jordyn Blum, Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon and Formula 1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart.

Ted Lasso royalty Hannah Waddingham, snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan and Spice Girl Mel C were among the celebrities watching on as British star Raducanu advanced to the third round on Wednesday.

The huge celebrity turnout has led to speculation about which stars might appear at this year's men's and women's final at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, to give the venue its full name.

Last year's men's final featured the Prince and Princess of Wales as well as two of their children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George watching on from the Royal Box.

The Princess is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club and hands out the trophies to the men's and women's winners.

It's not yet known if Catherine will attend this year's Wimbledon, as she continues her cancer treatment, but organisers recently admitted they are "hopeful" she will attend the spectacle.

Debbie Jevans, chairwoman of the All England Club, recently told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority."

Other stars who watched last year's men's final included former James Bond actor Daniel Craig and his fellow actor wife, Rachel Weisz, as well as pop princess Ariana Grande and her Wicked co-star, Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey.

The Night Manager actor Tom Hiddleston, Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield, Downton Abbey's Dame Maggie Smith, rapper Stormzy, and Lord of the Rings actor Sir Ian McKellen were also in attendance.

A day earlier, for the women's final, the Princess of Wales, Smith, Garfield, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, and Barbie star Issa Rae watched on as Marketa Vondrousova became the first unseeded player to win the Wimbledon women's single title.

But she won't be repeating the trick this year, having already been knocked out.

Beckham In The Royal Box

Another person who suffered a blow recently and is unlikely to be at Wimbledon again this year is McKellen.

Last month, he injured his wrist and neck when he fell off stage during a performance of Player Kings at the Noel Coward theatre in London, and recently admitted he is only ensured of a "complete recovery" if he avoids work for the next two weeks.

While McKellen may not make it for the men's final, other showbiz royalty could, including former England football captain Beckham.

Beckham is the 8/11 favourite on Wimbledon betting sites to watch the showpiece from the Royal Box, after taking his mother Sandra to the first day of action

Others who might make a return to the Wimbledon men's final this year include Spider-Man star Garfield, who is Evens to be at the men's final and 6/4 to be at the women's decider.

What's more, Attenborough is 5/2 to be at the men's final, and Sir Cliff Richard is 7/2 to attend either spectacle, with microphone in hand - just in case!

By Royal Appointment

While it's not known whether Princess Catherine will attend this year's Wimbledon, her husband William has recently been spotted with their kids at a Taylor Swift gig, and also at England's 1-1 draw with Denmark at Euro 2024 in Germany.

He is just 11/8 on specials betting sites to attend this year's Wimbledon men's final, and he could be supported by several other members of the Royal Family.

Princess Beatrice - who was recently spotted partying at Glastonbury - is 4/6 favourite to be at the women's final, and 7/4 to head to the men's final a day later, while Royal couple Zara and Mike Tindall are Evens for appearances at the women's finale.

Stormzy's Wimbledon Love

Stormzy is no stranger to the All England Club, and he and his Love Island presenter girlfriend Maya Jama are 4/1 on betting apps to attend the men's or women's final.

Other couples who could make an appearance include Loki movie star Tom Hiddleston and his Fresh Meat actress partner Zawe Ashton.

The pair attended the men's finale last year, when Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic.

Hiddleston and Ashton are both 5/1 to make appearances this year, while Happy Valley actor James Norton is a 7/1 shot to watch the men's final from the Royal Box.
