This race is open to amateur riders and horses aged five years or older.
Sometimes referred to as the 'Amateur Gold Cup', this is the top prize for amateur riders at the Cheltenham Festival.
The event is contested over the same course and distance as the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
To be eligible for this race, a horse must finish first or second twice in hunter chases or win two open point-to-point races. Alternatively, they must have won one open point-to-point race and finished first or second in a hunter chase.
