BetMGM announced Friday that it had signed Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers and the reigning NHL MVP, as its newest brand ambassador.

McDavid is BetMGM’s First Active Ambassador

With the McDavid signing, this is the first active professional athlete that BetMGM Ontario Sportsbook has brought in to become an ambassador.

The NHL All-Star center will be featured in “marketing campaigns, promotions, social media content and fan events.”

"I am very excited to partner with BetMGM as they continue to shape the future of sports betting," McDavid said in a news release. "It's also a real honor to be on the same BetMGM team with star athletes like Wayne Gretzky and Kevin Garnett, both of whom I admire very much."

McDavid, 25, entered the league in 2015 and was named the young-ever captain at just 19 years of age during the 2016 season.

In that 2016 season, McDavid won the Art Ross Trophy, which highlight’s the league’s leading scorer, the Hart Memorial Trophy, which is the NHL’s MVP award, and the Ted Lindsay Award, which is given to the league’s best player.

McDavid A Rising Star

McDavid has played just six seasons in the NHL but has won those three awards multiple times and is already considered one of the greatest players of all time.

"The accomplishments that Connor already has earned on the ice is astonishing and we are excited to welcome him to the BetMGM family. We look forward to working together to engage BetMGM players across North America,” Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer, said in a news release.

Today, BetMGM is available in 21 markets with both the desktop site and mobile app access, where it houses not only ways to bet on sports but responsible gaming tools as well.
