The Memphis Tigers were 6-6 in the current season but beat Tulane in November to make them bowl-eligible. This will be Memphis’ first appearance in a Hawai’i Bowl but eighth straight appearance in a Bowl.

Not only that, but the Rainbow Warriors’ winning margin in the majority of those games has been over 10 points. Only in 2019, when Hawaii beat BYU 38-34, has the margin been so tight.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors finished the 2021 season with a 6-7 record and a winning streak of just two games. However, their recent record in Honolulu has been excellent, winning 50-45 against Colorado State in November and 48-34 vs New Mexico State a month earlier.
