I have had my eye on Robert Johnson for a while and it was good to see him back to his best sweeping through to win a fiercely competitive handicap at Newmarket last month.
I loved the way he ran down Premiere Ligne who is a decent stayer himself and the pair came 7 lengths clear from the rest.
Aiden Brookes was seen to good effect that day and keeps the ride claiming 3lb off his back again. He has gone up 4lb but now back in form should run another big race.
Merrijig bolted up at Ripon and is on a hat-trick now so looks the obvious danger but a 7lb rise definitely makes life tougher.

He still looked like he was learning on the job and this step up to a mile and a quarter is only going to help.
This is definitely tougher now stepping into Group company but he has untapped potential and I expect him to improve again and run a big race.
Starzintheireyes bumped into Field Of Gold on debut and then won at Leicester. He has more to come too but might need more time to be seen to best effect albeit probably still the danger.

14:45 Chepstow: Get Your Tips Out Notebook Selection - Cuthbert Dibble 1pt Win
Paul Nicholls had a tough day yesterday and his horses are just looking like they’d do better for the run so I wouldn’t want to back Insurrection at a short price.
I prefer Cuthbert Dibble for the red-hot Nigel Twiston-Davies yard. This horse was progressive over hurdles last season and bolted up at this track on reappearance.
He ran huge when third to Monmiral at the Cheltenham Festival before blowing out at Aintree.
I think you can forgive him that though as it came at the end of the season. He certainly has the size and scope to do well over fences and I’m looking forward to seeing him out.
