NFL Week 5 Picks: The Panel's Selections For Sunday, Including Bills @ Texans

It's Week 5 in the NFL and the standings are beginning to take shape. Only two teams are undefeated while the Jaguars are the only team without a win.

The best betting sites are all over this weekend's action and after landing a 12/1 in Week 3, The Panel are confident of landing a 15/1 acca from Sunday's action on the gridiron.

Dolphins @ Patriots Tips: Offenses To Struggle

If you like offense, you might want to give Miami's trip to New England a wide berth. Only one team has scored fewer points than the Patriots, who average 13.0 points per game - and that's the Dolphins.

Miami rank 32nd in scoring with an average of 11.3 points per game. The absence of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with another concussion is one reason why the Dolphins have struggled to find the end zone. Those woes are expected to continue in Foxboro.

The 'over' has been set at 36.5 points and it's hard to see how both teams will combine to surpass that total. Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo is under pressure to start rookie quarterback Drake Maye in place of the struggling Jacoby Brissett.

If we see Maye under center in this game, it's not going to help the Patriots rack up the points, as it might take time for the rookie to find his feet.

The Panel's NFL Week 5 Predictions:

Panthers @ Bears Odds: Bears To Finish Strong, Again

The Chicago Bears are 2-2 with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams leading their offense. The Bears (seven) have the current longest win streak at home in the NFL after beating the Rams 24-18.

It was another game where the second half was the highest-scoring half as the Rams and Bears put up 26 points compared to the 16 before half-time.

Chicago are ranked joint-fourth in points scored in the second half with 13.5 and they have won three and tied the other second half so far this season.

The Panthers have trailed at the interval in three of their four games after being outscored 78-38 in the first half. The Bears' defense has helped get the team to parity after four games and they should come to the fore in the second half.

Browns @ Commanders Preview: Daniels To Be Picked Off

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels didn't get as much hype before the season compared to Chicago's signal caller Caleb Williams, but it's Daniels who has got off to the better start.

Daniels is completing 82.1% of his passes which is a record through four games for any rookie quarterback in the history of the NFL, and it's one reason why the Commanders are leading the NFC East with a 3-1 record.

However, they are third favourites on betting apps to win the division.

It hasn't all been perfect for Daniels who threw his first interception in the win over the Cardinals last weekend, and now that there is more film for defensive coordinators to study, more picks could follow.

As bad as their offense has been with Deshaun Watson under center, the Browns defense can cause problems for any team and they will be looking to force Daniels into making poor decisions throughout the game.

Bills @ Texans Preview: Diggs To Score Against Former Team

Every week or so, a 'revenge' game pops up on the schedule that grabs our attention in the NFL. Buffalo's trip to Houston falls into that category, as Stefon Diggs comes up against his previous team.

Diggs enjoyed a lot of success catching passes and touchdowns from Bills quarterback Josh Allen before a trade to the Texans in the off-season. Diggs will have come up against Buffalo's defenders a lot in practice in recent seasons and he'll know how to beat them.

Towards the end of his time in Buffalo, Diggs proved to be difficult, often demanding to be targeted more. So far this season Diggs has caught six fewer passes, has 166 fewer receiving yards and two fewer touchdowns.

The wide receiver will demand the ball this weekend and if he has his way, he'll use this game to put up big numbers, and celebrate in the face of those who used to be his team-mates.

The Panel's NFL Week 5 Tip 4: Bills @ Texans: Stefon Diggs Anytime Scorer - 5/4 With Bet365
