World Cup betting sites are still feeling smug about Saudi Arabia’s incredible win over Argentina on Tuesday, with very few punters predicting the 22/1 outcome.

Bookmakers would welcome another major upset on Wednesday but it’s hard to see a more shocking result at Qatar 2022. The Saudis may have made a mockery of the odds on Day Three, but we've made reasoned predictions on the latest fixtures.

Morocco, Japan, Costa Rica and Canada are the underdogs on Day Four of the tournament and we’ve earmarked one side in particular to ruffle a few feathers.

Below, we reveal our Wednesday World Cup tips with the best odds from a range of football betting sites.

Morocco vs Croatia, Wednesday, 10am

After opening with a 2-0 loss for hosts Qatar, the Al Bayt Stadium’s second game sees Morocco launch another attempt to better their best World Cup performance – a round of 16 exit back in 1986, when they became the first African nation to top a World Cup group.

Runners up at the last World Cup and captained by 2018 Golden Ball winner Luka Modrić, Croatia have sustained their form, reaching the 2023 UEFA Nations League finals earlier this year after finishing League A Group 1 with four wins.

They should have too much class and experience for Morocco and look a good bet at odds against here.

Germany vs Japan, Wednesday, 1pm

With Spain to look forward to in their second game, Germany really ought to get three points on the board when they face Japan in their opener on Wednesday.

With the experience of Manuel Neuer, Antonio Rudiger and Thomas Muller, as well as the explosiveness of Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry, Germany have a squad capable of challenging anyone at the World Cup.

The four-time world champions will be without Leroy Sane for their opener, but they should still have enough to overcome Japan, who have won only one of their last eight World Cup games.

The Germans should not take the Asian side too lightly though, especially as they were beaten by South Korea in the group stage four years ago.

The aforementioned Musiala could be the fresh face Germany need to get their campaign off the ground this time around. The 19-year-old Bayern Munich attacker has nine goals and six assists in the Bundesliga this season and can carry that form on to the global stage.

Tip: Jamal Musiala Man Of The Match – 6/1 with Bet365

Spain vs Costa Rica, Wednesday, 4pm

There may be only 24 places separating Spain and Costa Rica in the FIFA world rankings, but there is a massive gulf when it comes to the history of the game.

The 2010 winners Spain have four major victories (one World Cup, three European Championships) to their name, and while Costa Rica have won the CONCACAF Gold Cup three times (the last of which being in 1989), their best over World Cup performance was a quarter-final appearance back in 2014.

Costa Rica are also an aging side, as 11 of their 26-man World Cup squad are aged 30 or above, while Spain boasts a young, vibrant squad with 14 players under 25 years old.

The above stat could well be telling in the final stretch of the game, but don’t forget Luis Enrique can also call on talents like Barcelona trio Ferran Torres, Gavi and Ansu Fati if he is in need of a bit of a creative spark in front of goal.

Granted, this is clearly not the all-conquering Spanish side we witnessed recently, but expect this new brood of youngsters to get the job done on Costa Rica with a bit to spare.

Tip: Spain -2 – 7/5 with Betfair

Belgium vs Canada, Wednesday, 7pm

Now we come to what could be a sleeper game for the best match of the tournament. It’s easy to write off Canada given their lack of tradition at the business end of the sport, but there is something different about this current crop under the tutelage of John Herdman.

Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies is the clear star of the team, but he was complimented by a more-than-able cast around him as Canada steamrollered all around them to top the CONCACAF World Cup qualification table.

This may be only their second finals appearance (the only other one being in 1986), but Roberto Martínez better be wary of the men from the Great White North.

That said, even though Belgium are coming to the end of the cycle of their so-called ‘golden generation’, they still possess some excellent attacking talent – Youri Tielemans, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard to name but a few.

However, their defence has been leaky of late, conceding in six of their last seven outings and that makes Both Teams To Score an attractive prospect on betting apps.

Tip: Both Teams To Score – 4/5 with 10Bet
