Cheltenham Day 4 Each-Way Tips:

It’s the final day of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, with the Gold Cup taking centre stage on Friday for online bookmakers.

It’s a card packed with high quality races and proceedings kick off with the JCB Triumph Hurdle (1.30pm).

However, all eyes will be on whether favourite Galopin Des Champs can live up to his hype in the big one as the Festival comes to a close for another year.

1.30pm JCB Triumph Hurdle – Gala Marceau

Lossiemouth is sure to go off favourite with horse racing betting sites for the Triumph, but we prefer going down the each-way route and Gala Marceau certainly fits the bill.

This is another mare who will benefit from the weight allowance on soft ground, with Willie Mullins’ charge having actually beaten Lossiemouth in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle.

Previously to this, the order had been in reverse in the Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle.

Meanwhile, plenty of respect has to be afforded to Blood Destiny, with Mullins actually having the first four horses in the betting.

2.10pm County Hurdle – Gin Coco

Gin Coco looks locked and loaded for the McCoy Contractors County Handicap Hurdle, with trainer Harry Fry having high hopes for a seven-year-old who has been aimed at this race for a long time.

A second-placed finish in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle behind I Like To Move It was fairly solid form.

Previously to this, there had been a win at Newton Abbot and the horse also ran well at last year’s Punchestown Festival over two miles.

With a favourable weight in this race, we have great expectations for Fry’s charge.

2.50pm Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle – Favori De Champdou

Gordon Elliott has some leading contenders for the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle.

Three Card Brag running for the Irish handler in this one, however we’re more interested in Favori De Champdou who runs in the Gigginstown colours.

Gordon Elliott

The eight-year-old has bagged three straight victories in the lead-up to this Cheltenham race.

That run includes back-to-back wins at Thurles being followed by a comfortable win over two miles and seven furlongs at Limerick.

That was a Grade 2 novice hurdle and there’s more to come here from this gelding.

3.30pm Cheltenham Gold Cup – Bravemansgame

Bravemansgame looks like the bet to have each-way for the Gold Cup, especially if you can get four places for the Cheltenham big one.

Paul Nicholls hasn’t had too many winners at the Festival, but he has previously saddled winners for this race and his eight-year-old has done everything right this season.

The victory in the King George VI Chase was by 14 lengths, with jockey Harry Cobden capable of giving him another great spin over three miles two-and-a-half lengths.

This followed a Charlie Hall Chase success and we’re just hoping the horse can get the trip this time.

4.10pm Open Hunters’ Chase – Le Malin

There were plenty of big-priced winners on Day Three and we’re going to throw a dart at Le Malin in the St. James's Place Festival Challenge Cup.

Although Vaucelet has been tipped up by the world and his wife for this Cheltenham race, this could be a lot more open than the prices suggests and we might see a number of horses landing in a heap.

Le Malin is a nine-year-old with some solid form behind him and most recently landed a victory in a Lisronagh point to point, with that coming after finishing just half a length behind Billaway at Naas.

Look for the biggest number of places on new betting sites in a race with a big field.

4.50pm Mares’ Chase – Magic Daze

Allegorie de Vassy and Impervious are competing for favouritism at the top of the Mares Chase market, although Magic Daze is a better option from an each-way perspective.

The seven-year-old runs for Henry de Bromhead, with the mare recently beating Dinoblue at Naas a month ago.

Previously to this, she was second over two miles and one furlong at Fairyhouse, with the horse capable of running much better than shown when finishing down the order in last year’s Arkle.

5.30pm Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle – Iroko

Iroko’s form appears to be working out pretty well, with the five-year-old capable of running into the frame when it comes to the last race of the Cheltenham Festival.

There have been back-to-back wins this season, with the latest victory coming at Wetherby in a handicap hurdle over two miles, three and a half furlongs.

The gelding is still available at an each-way price on betting apps, and he could just be a nifty Festival closer for you.
