As we enter the second half of the winter transfer window, betting sites expect plenty of movement between now and January 31.

One player who has been linked with a move away from his current club is Evan Ferguson, one of the breakout stars in the 2022/23 campaign.

The Brighton & Hove Albion striker played a key role in the club’s qualification for the Europa League, and his performances did not escape the attention of rival Premier League clubs.

However, with just 11 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, Ferguson is having to do battle with Joao Pedro for the starting striker position, which could lead to the 19-year-old playing his football elsewhere in the near future.

Where will the Ireland international be plying his trade next? Let’s take a look at some of the options.

Betting On Staying: Evan Ferguson's Next Club Odds Lean Heavily Towards Brighton

A large part of Brighton’s success in recent years is down to their fantastic recruitment model, of which the sale of players for vast profits is an essential element.

The Seagulls have punched above their weight by signing relative unknowns from all four corners of the planet, before shipping them out when the time is right.

Brighton did not stand in Alexis Mac Allister’s way when the midfielder expressed a desire to depart, and the cash raised from his sale has been reinvested into the squad astutely.

A big-money offer for Ferguson could prove similarly tempting. But, as things stand, football betting sites do not expect the striker to be playing for another club any time soon, hence odds of 1/2 on him staying.

Ferguson is still yet to make 50 Premier League appearances and Brighton will believe they can keep hold of him for at least another 12 months.

Evan Ferguson Transfer: Chelsea Emerge As Favourites In Next Club Odds

Chelsea finished 12th in what was a truly miserable campaign last season. Things have improved under Mauricio Pochettino, but only slightly, as the Blues sit ninth midway through the campaign.

The arrival of Nicolas Jackson has added more firepower to a lacklustre attack which scored only 38 goals in 2022/23, but competition from Ferguson could be what is needed in the eyes of the Chelsea hierarchy.

Although the Senegal striker has managed a return of eight goals from 23 games this term, there is still questions over his finishing acumen.

Ferguson could fit the bill and the Chelsea manager’s preference for youth could work in his favour, as a long-term suitor for the number nine position at Stamford Bridge.

But given the 19-year-old signed a new contract with Brighton until June 2029 back in November, he would cost a handsome fee.

Bookmakers rate their chances of landing the Irishman, who has bagged six goals himself this term, at 7/2.

Man Utd's Prospects Of Signing Evan Ferguson: Odds And Predictions

Even though he is contracted until the summer of 2029, United are expected to keep tabs on the forward should Rasmus Hojlund fail to build on his two Premier League goals in 16 appearances.

Of course, United will hope their summer addition Hojlund goes on to succeed at Old Trafford, however with the Irishman already bagging 12 goals in his 38 appearances for Brighton, he could be who the Red Devils turn to next.

Erik ten Hag

With a new Manchester United manager being a real possibility if things don't improve under Erik ten Hag, the Dutchman would be sure to welcome anyone who can bring goals to his side in January.

As mentioned, despite Ferguson being contracted to the Seagulls for another five years, we don't expect them to stand in the way of the 19-year-old if a move if one of the biggest clubs in the world comes calling.

Could Liverpool, Tottenham or Napoli Spring Surprise In The Evan Ferguson Race

Liverpool (10/1) have chopped and changed between Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo as their line-leader this season .

If they were to sign Ferguson, he is undoubtably a number nine and would look to play as the central striker under Jurgen Klopp.

The youngster could nail down the position, even more so if Mohamed Salah departs Anfield, as he will leave a void for either of Jota, Nunez or Gakpo to fill.

Despite the addition of Timo Werner to their ranks in recent days, Tottenham are still searching for a long-term replacement for Harry Kane.

The Irishman will feel he has a much better chance of first-team football for Spurs, but it may be a transfer window too soon just yet.

Nevertheless, the Lilywhites are 16/1 to sign Ferguson and he is well worth keeping tabs on to make a move to Spurs at the end of the season.

Napoli could have a substantial transfer kitty if Victor Osimhen departs the Italian side, and could turn to a youngster to set the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium alight.

We have seen numerous British and Irish players move overseas in recent years, with Festy Ebosele, James Abankwah, Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham all enjoying great success overseas.

Ferguson could follow suit one day, but it is unlikely to happen this winter. Napoli are the favourites of all non-English teams at 22/1 with betting apps.

Making Sense of Evan Ferguson's Next Club Odds: Where Else Could He Land?

The Irishman could be an option for Real Madrid, but given the devastating impact Bellingham has made, there is no need for Los Blancos to shell out on another potential star.

As a result, new betting sites are offering odds of 25/1 for Ferguson to join Carlo Ancelotti's side next.

Odds are also available on Newcastle (33/1) and Barcelona (40/1), but there is no evidence that either club is considering a swoop for the teenager.

Ferguson may well end up playing for one of the richest clubs on the planet at some stage of his career, but a move up north to join the Magpies seems a long shot just yet.

A move to Spain also doesn't appear imminent and it would be a surprise to see Ferguson join Barca with Robert Lewandowski still at the peak of his powers.
