Premier League Relegation Odds: Who Will Go Down?

We are approaching the final few games of the Premier League season, and betting sites have updated their relegation odds after an eventful few weeks at the bottom of the table.

Sheffield United remain rooted to the bottom of the table and will be relegated this weekend if they lose at Newcastle.

Despite Everton being deducted a further two points for another breach of the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules, the Toffees are closing in on survival after winning the Merseyside derby on Wednesday to go eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Three sides will drop into the Championship at the end of the campaign and it now looks like a three-horse battle to fill the remaining two spots once Sheffield United's relegation is confirmed.

Which three sides will finish below the dreaded dotted line? Check out the latest odds offered by betting apps below, then read our analysis of the fight to stay up.

Sheffield United And Burnley Odds-On To Fall

Sheffield United are almost certain to finish in the bottom three at 1/2000 on football betting sites

The Blades, who have the worst attack and defence in the league, have had little to cheer following promotion to the Premier League last season.

Chris Wilder's side twice took the lead at Manchester United during the week, but a 4-2 defeat left them 10 points adrift of Nottingham Forest with just four games remaining.

Burnley have fared marginally better, yet they have still been a huge disappointment after romping to the Championship title in the 2022/23 campaign and are 1/10 to go down.

Still, Vincent Kompany's men have lost just one of their last seven matches and a 4-1 win at Bramall Lane last weekend means they are only three points adrift of safety.

Luton Still Have Hope Despite Heavy Losses

Luton continue to defy the pre-season odds and remain just one point away from climbing out of the relegation zone.

A recent 2-1 win over Bournemouth boosted their hopes of survival, but back-to-back 5-1 defeats by champions Manchester City and Brentford have left fans fearful of an immediate return to the Championship.

Rob Edwards' side host relegation rivals Everton in their first game in May and their four remaining fixtures are against teams outside the top seven, so they still have a chance of playing in the top flight next season.

Luton have been competitive for much of the campaign - certainly more so than Sheffield United and Burnley - and they will be optimistic they can pick up points against Wolves, Everton, West Ham and Fulham.

Yet football betting sites price them at 4/11 to return to the Championship.

The Hatters will fight until the end, but a relative lack of quality could ultimately be their undoing.

Struggling Forest Cut For Relegation

Nottingham Forest remain just a point outside the bottom three after being hit with a four-point deduction.

The club have appealed against the punishment and could get one or two points back, but manager Nuno Espirito Santo will not want to leave anything to chance.

The Portuguese oversaw an initial bounce after taking charge at the City Ground, but a 2-0 defeat at Everton last time out means they have won just twice in 2024 and only seven times all season.

There is enough talent within the group for Forest (6/4) to survive, but their Premier League relegation odds have shortened and Nuno has some serious work to do over the next few weeks during which his side face Manchester City and Chelsea.

Everton Close To Survival After Back-To-Back Wins

Everton were originally hit with a 10-point penalty for their own breach of the profit and sustainability rules, but four were handed back on appeal, before a further two were recently deducted.

The Toffees had won just one of their last 15 matches in the league, but crucial back-to-back 2-0 wins against relegation foes Nottingham Forest and arch rivals Liverpool have put them on the brink of safety.

Sean Dyche

Two wins from their final four matches will guarantee Premier League survival for Sean Dyche's men and if they get the job done against Brentford this weekend, the games against Luton and Nottingham Forest may prove irrelevant.

The bookies still expect Everton to stay up and are now priced at 50/1 for the drop.

One Last Push For Brentford

Crystal Palace ensured a 12th successive season in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle, and Brentford (2500/1) are expected to secure their place soon.

Vital victories against relegation rivals Sheffield United and Luton mean the Bees only need one win from their last four fixtures to guarantee survival.

Thomas Frank's side face Everton at Goodison Park this weekend when a win will get them over the line.
