Quick Return For Relegated Sides?
Burnley, Luton Town and Sheffield United - the three sides relegated from the top flight in May, are among the favourites on UK betting sites to make an immediate return to the promised land.
Sheffield United were the first of the three to be relegated, followed by Burnley, while Luton took their fight to the final day of the season.
However, they face stiff competition from the sides who narrowly missed out on promotion last season, like Leeds United who were beaten by Southampton in the playoff final as well as West Brom and Norwich who made the playoffs.
Gambling.com has put together a definitive table of odds for all 24 Championship teams ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Leeds Lead The Way With Most Bookmakers
Leeds United have had all summer to sulk about missing out on promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
As a result of their failure to go up, key players have moved on, including Archie Gray to Tottenham and last season's Championship player of the season Crysencio Summerville who joined West Ham.
Despite these big departures, the football betting sites fancy Leeds to finish top of the table in May. The Elland Road side are 7/2 favourites to win the league.
Burnley are back in the Championship after just one season in the top flight and they are 8/1 to win the league this season.
Luton Town, another side relegated from the Premier League in May, complete the top three at 12/1.
Oxford Tipped For Immediate Return To League One
Of the three clubs who won promotion to the Championship, betting apps favour Portsmouth to have the better season.
John Mousinho's Pompey side finished last season on 97 points, five clear of Derby who were runners-up.
Portsmouth are 11/2 to make this season's playoffs, while Derby are 7/1.
Oxford United beat Bolton 2-0 in the League One playoff final in May and if their odds are to be believed, it will be one-and-done for the U's.
The Kassam Stadium side are the 5/4 favourites with Bet365 for the drop. Plymouth, who narrowly avoided relegation last season, are 9/4 second favourites to be relegated.
Preston have spent the last eight seasons in the Championships but they are 4/1 to be relegated, the same price as Blackburn who struggled last season and finished just three points above the bottom three.
Joseph Favourite To Be Championship's Leading Scorer
Leading goalscorer remains one of the most popular player props ahead of any football season.
In the Championship last season, Sammie Szmodics finished top of the scoring charts with 27 goals for a Blackburn team that struggled and finished just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Will this season's hot shot come from a side struggling in the bottom half of the table, or will the honour go to a side that challenges for promotion to the Premier League?
Leeds are expected by many new betting sites to be the team to beat in the Championship this season.
Mateo Joseph is tipped to lead the line for Daniel Farke's side and the Spaniard has scored four goals in pre-season.
Joseph (10/1) is the favourite to be the Championship's leading scorer this season, followed by Middlesbrough's Emmanuel Latte Lath (12/1) and Josh Sargent of Norwich (16/1).
