Complete Guide To The Final Day In League Two

Stockport, Mansfield and Wrexham have already secured the top three places in League Two, and while Stockport go up as champions, second place is still up for grabs.

Wrexham were favourites with many betting sites before the season started, and Phil Parkinson's side lived up to those expectations by celebrating back-to-back promotions.

MK Dons know they will finish fourth and they will be involved in the play-offs, but the six teams directly below them still have a chance of extending their seasons.

At the bottom end of the table, it's a straight shootout between Sutton United and Colchester as to which team will join Forest Green in next season's National League.

We'll take you through the final day League Two permutations.

Doncaster Hitting Form At The Right Time

Doncaster's chances of making the play-offs looked impossible in early March when they were 20th in the table.

However, Grant McCann's side have taken a maximum 30 points from their last 10 league games to propel themselves to fifth in League Two.

Rovers, who are second favourites on betting apps to be promoted, are one of six teams in the mix to secure a play-off berth on the final day of the season.

Here are the various League Two permutations:

Doncaster - currently fifth and they know a point in their final match at Gillingham will be enough to secure a play-off place. They could drop out of the playoffs if they lose and results elsewhere go against them.

Crewe - can secure their place in the play-offs with a point at Colchester. Defeat could see them drop out of the top seven if other results don't fall their way.

Barrow - winless in their last six, but victory at home to already-promoted Mansfield would see them safely into the play-offs. A draw might be enough, but they could be overtaken by either Crawley or Bradford.

Crawley - a win at home to Grimsby would be enough for a play-off berth if Barrow fail to win. A play-off place will be their's with a draw, a Barrow defeat by two goals or more and Bradford fail to win their final game.

Bradford - anything less than a win at home to Newport and Bradford's season is over. Even a win won't be enough if results involving Crawley and Barrow go against the Bantams.

Walsall - have a very slim chance of making the play-offs. A big win at Wimbledon is needed, but they need help from Barrow, Crawley and Bradford.

Sutton Left Needing A Miracle To Stay Up

It promises to be a very nervous afternoon for fans of Colchester and Sutton United.

One set of supporters will get to experience the euphoria of staying in the Football League, while for the other set of fans, the realisation of playing non-league football will take some getting used to.

Sutton are massive favourites with betting sites to drop out of the Football League, but fairytale stories can be written on the final day of the season.

Forest Green's fate was sealed a couple of weeks ago and it's between Colchester and Sutton as to which team goes down with them.

Colchester - the advantage is with Danny Cowley's side, who have a three-point lead over Sutton and a superior goal difference. A point at home to Crewe will be enough to stay in League Two. As long as Sutton don't better their result, Colchester will be safe.

Sutton - have no option but to go for it when they travel to MK Dons, who are guaranteed to finish fourth. Sutton's hopes lie with their hosts resting key players ahead of the playoffs and with Colchester losing at home to Crewe. There's also a four-goal swing to overturn as well.
