Gladiators Odds: Who Will Win The BBC Series?
The BBC's revival of Gladiators began life as a huge hit, and the series looks set to come to a conclusion on Saturday in similar fashion - but it's tough to separate the finalists on UK betting sites.
Just days after Gladiators returned in January, the BBC confirmed the comeback episode was the corporation's biggest launch for a new entertainment series in seven years.
The show has been a huge success, and last Saturday's final semi-final featured plenty of highs and lows.
Chung Leung went into the semi odds-on favourite to be the male winner of this year's series after previously racing through two Eliminators in just over one minute apiece.
However, Chung was dealt a cruel blow in the semi-final when he was forced to withdraw from the competition after picking up an injury during the Powerball game.
He was replaced by Matt Jones, who Chung defeated back in Heat 4, but Matt lost out to Wesley Malé in the semi-final.
Wesley was also a replacement in the series when he took the place of injured Finley Burkitt in the first quarter-final.
Wesley To Face Finlay
Following Chung's injury, Wesley and Matt started the semi-final Eliminator at the same time, and the former leapt to victory to book his place in the final.
But he will go into the finale as the slight outsider on specials betting sites.
Wesley is 11/8 to taste victory on Saturday night, while his opponent Finlay Anderson is the narrow 8/11 favourite and could be a good short priced option for those looking to use free bets.
Finlay overcame Jake Spence's six-second Eliminator head start in the semi-finals to reach the final, and he was branded a "machine" by co-host Barney Walsh following his rapid finish.
He completed the Eliminator in just over one minute, while Wesley took around 10 seconds more to finish his in the latest semi-final.
While Chung's exit was a huge shock and a big blow for the finale, it looks set to be a mouth-watering battle between Wesley and Finlay.
Marie-Louise And Bronte Tough To Separate
There was also a big surprise in the women's competition last Saturday, which has shaken things up on betting apps.
Kerry Wilson had a nine-second Eliminator head start over Marie-Louise Nicholson in the last semi-final of the series, but Marie-Louise somehow caught her up and flew through the tape first to book her place in Saturday's final.
Kerry was fingertips away from reaching the top of the Travelator at her first attempt, and she even had enough time to have a second go, but she couldn't quite make it.
After two failed attempts by Kerry, Marie-Louise made no mistake in her only semi-final Travelator try, and sealed herself a place in Saturday's finale.
Marie-Louise will go up against Bronte Jones in the final, and both contenders have posted Eliminator times of around one minute and 30 seconds during the series.
But Marie-Louise will go into the final as the slight 4/6 favourite on new betting sites, while Kerry is 6/4.
It's all to play for in Saturday's final!
