Next Burton Manager Odds: Schumacher New Frontrunner To Fill Brewers Vacancy
Burton are on the lookout for a new manager and the best betting sites have opened the market on who will replace Mark Robinson.
Robinson's dismissal was confirmed after the Brewers were beaten at home to Wycombe on October 22 which sent them to the foot of the League One table.
Assistant head coach Tom Hounsell has taken the role of interim boss while the club look for a permanent successor for Robinson, but Saturday's 1-0 defeat at relegation rivals Cambridge means Burton remain winless with just four points from their opening 12 games.
The club will no doubt want to make a permanent appointment as soon as possible as they find themselves well adrift of 20th place Leyton Orient.
Who will be next through the door at the Pirelli Stadium? Let’s take a look at the contenders.

Schumacher In Driving Seat
Mark Kennedy was initially installed as favourite for the Burton job, but it now appears to be a two-horse race between Steven Schumacher and Gareth Ainsworth.
Schumacher was a Championship manager just two months ago, but a poor start to the season at Stoke saw him out of a job.
The former Bradford and Bury midfielder made his name at Plymouth where he was appointed head coach at the end of 2021 when Ryan Lowe left to take over at Preston.

The Pilgrims missed out on the League One play-offs on the final day of the season after a heavy defeat by MK Dons, but made amends in the following campaign when they were promoted as champions.
Schumacher joined Stoke in December 2023 and although he saved them from relegation, he was shown the door in September after winning just two of his first five games.
BetVictor is offering 4/5 on Schumacher in the next Burton manager odds.
Ainsworth Could Make Managerial Return
Gareth Ainsworth spent 11 years in charge of Wycombe where he secured two promotions in three years between 2018-20.
However, his spell as QPR manager in 2023 lasted just eight months, culminating in the sack towards the end of October following six consecutive defeats.
Ainsworth recently applied for the Hearts job when Steven Naismith was shown the door and although he lost out to Neil Critchley, his name is in the frame for the Brewers job.
The 51-year-old Lancastrian is 4/1 second favourite with football betting sites to take the reins at the Pirelli Stadium.
Mark Kennedy Seeking New Challenge
Former Millwall, Manchester City and Liverpool defender Mark Kennedy is now the favourite for the Burton job having been sacked by League Two Swindon Town.
Kennedy only arrived at the County Ground in the summer, having previously held roles at Lincoln City and Macclesfield Town.
But things didn't work out for the former Republic of Ireland international with the club just one place outside of the relegation zone with only two wins from 13 League Two matches at the time of his departure.
He was relieved of his position following the recent 2-1 defeat to Salford City and the 48-year-old now finds himself looking for his next challenge and can be backed at 10/1 to take charge of Albion.
Rowett Set For Second Stint At Burton?
Gary Rowett’s first managerial role was at Burton between 2012-14.
He took the club to the upper echelons of League Two before being poached by Birmingham City in October 2014.
Rowett has since managed Derby, Stoke and Millwall - all in the Championship. It is therefore slightly surprising that he is such a strong favourite for the Burton job at 12/1.
Notwithstanding the romantic notion of a return to the Pirelli, Rowett would presumably prefer to hold out for a job in the second tier.
Burton are not exactly flush with cash either, so this would represent a clear backwards step in the 49-year-old’s career.
Adam Hinshelwood Working Wonders At York
Former Hastings and Worthing boss Hinshelwood has worked wonders at York since being appointed manager in February.
The Minstermen jumped to the top of the National League table at the weekend when two stoppage-time goals sealed a 2-1 win at Halifax and extended their unbeaten run to more than two months.
He’s certainly a manager with a bright future, and one that York will hope can spearhead their long-term ambitions, but Burton could have other ideas and Hinshelwood is 16/1 to be the next manager at the Pirelli Stadium.

Hounsell Has Point To Prove
The Burton board placed one of Robinson’s assistants, Tom Hounsell, in interim charge, announcing that he has the job “until a permanent successor is confirmed”.
Hounsell was involved with the Fulham academy for over five years and clearly has ambitions of managing in his own right one day.
But such a statement could imply that there will be no promotion from within and he fluffed his lines at the weekend as the Brewers suffered a late 1-0 defeat at Cambridge.
However, the 29-year-old can also be backed at 16/1 to get the role on a full-time basis.
Daniel Berg Hestad Unknown Quantity
Hestad is currently manager of Norwegian side Molde having represented the club 666 times and is their most capped player.
In his time on the field he won three domestic league titles and four national cups before hanging up his boots to go into coaching in 2016 with the Molde's youth team and then KI Klaksvík II of the Faroe Islands.
Despite little managerial experience, Hestad is currently 20/1 with betting apps to become the next Burton manager.
Wild On The Cards?
Pete Wild remains without a job after narrowly missing out on reaching the play-offs with Barrow last season.
The Cumbrians lost five of their last seven League Two matches as Crawley snatched seventh spot on the final day of the campaign.
Wild was the favourite for the Blackpool job in May only for Steve Bruce to be appointed manager.
Odds of 25/1 suggest Wild is not in the running for the Burton job, but it can only be a matter of time before he finally finds himself employed again.
