Next Southampton Manager Odds: Moyes Favourite To Replace Martin
Southampton extended their winless run to nine league games with a 1-0 defeat at Manchester City, their fourth loss in a row.
While they did beat Stoke 3-2 to advance in the Carabao Cup, the pressure remains on manager Russell Martin.
How much longer will Martin stay in charge of the team for?
Leading betting sites have continued to monitor the situation on the south coast and we run down the candidates who are top of the market to replace Martin as Saints' next manager.
David Moyes has emerged as the favourite to be Southampton's next permanent manager and his experience of the Premier League could be just what the club need right now.
There are other familiar names on the list if Saints decide to make a managerial change this early in the season.

Moyes Would Be A Perfect Fit For Saints
If Southampton are looking for a manager with a wealth of experience of managing in the Premier League, who also knows how to win a trophy, then a call to David Moyes should be made.
Moyes is available to take over if the Saints are to move on from Martin, who sealed promotion back to the Premier League with a 1-0 play-off final win over Leeds in May.
The former Everton, Manchester United and West Ham boss would be perfect for a club like Southampton, who need someone with Moyes' experience to take them to the next level.
Moyes is the 2/1 favourite with football betting sites.
Rafa Ready To Return To Premier League
Rafael Benitez is no stranger to managing in the Premier League, with four clubs on his CV. Could he be willing to add Southampton to the list that includes Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton?
Saints need a manager with experience of the league and the Spaniard has that in abundance, with over 500 games under his belt in the English top flight.
Benitez was last in charge at La Liga side Celta Vigo, but his time in charge ended in March after winning five of his 28 league games in charge.
The 64-year-old, who guided Liverpool to Champions League glory in 2005, is 9/4 to make a return to the Premier League to try and save Saints from relegation back to the Championship.
Garcia Ready To Return To Management
Rudi Garcia was tasked with replacing Napoli's most successful manager in recent seasons, when he was appointed as Luciano Spalletti's successor in June 2023.
Spalletti decided to take a break from the sport after guiding Napoli to their first Scudetto since the halcyon days when Diego Maradona played for the Naples side in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Garcia struggled to follow in the footsteps of Spalletti and after winning eight of his 16 games in charge, he was sacked. Garcia is 11/4 to be appointed Southampton's next manager.

Kasper Could Be Keen On Premier League Move
Kasper Hjulmand has been manager of Denmark for the last four years, during which time he has been on the sideline for two European Championships and the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Hjulmand is a well-respected manager who might be ready to return to the day-to-day operation of being a club manager.
The Dane has managed Lyngby and Nordsjaelland in his native country as well as German side Mainz. The 52-year-old is 3/1 on betting apps to make the switch to the Premier League as Southampton's next manager.
Edwards Would Be Up For A New Challenge
Rob Edwards took a lot of plaudits for guiding Luton Town to the Premier League for the first time in their history, but it was one and done for the Hatters who returned to the Championship after just one season.
The new season hasn't started well for Edwards' Luton, who sit in the bottom half of the table despite beating Watford 3-0 at Kenilworth Road. It might be that Edwards needs a new challenge to get him going again.
Edwards is 4/1 to answer Southampton's call to replace Martin.
De Rossi Might Fancy Switch To England
It wasn't long ago that Daniele De Rossi was the toast of Roma, but the success he enjoyed after replacing Jose Mourinho in January disappeared in the opening weeks of the season.
De Rossi will remain a Roma legend as a player, with the midfielder making over 450 appearances for the Serie A club. However, a winless start to the season saw De Rossi sacked after just four games.
At 11/2, De Rossi might not be set to make a switch to England just yet, but it might not be long before he does.
Lampard Available If Saints Sack Martin
Frank Lampard is waiting for his next managerial appointment and Southampton might just be the challenge he is waiting for.
Lampard has experience of managing in the Premier League with Chelsea and Everton, even if they lacked the success he and the clubs were searching for.
