Next West Brom Manager Odds: Heitinga Heads Baggies List To Replace Corberan
Championship play-off hopefuls West Brom are searching for a new manager after Carlos Corberan was appointed head coach of Valencia on Christmas Day.
The Spanish strugglers paid the exit clause of the former Huddersfield boss, who signed a deal until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Corberan explained that the decision to leave The Hawthorns for his hometown club was the “hardest” decision of his life, but attention now turns to potential replacements.
Betting sites have named former Everton defender John Heitinga as the early favourite to replace the Spaniard.

Who will end up leading the Baggies’ bid to return to the Premier League in the coming days and weeks?
Gambling.com takes look at the leading candidates and the latest next West Brom manager odds.
Baggies Eye Heitinga Move
Heitinga has plenty of experience of English football as a tough-tackling centre-back with the Toffees between 2009-14, but he has now starting to make waves as a coach.
The Dutchman replaced Alfred Schreuder as Ajax’s head coach for the rest of the 2022/23 season, but left the club when he was not handed the role on a permanent basis.
Heitinga joined West Ham as an assistant coach under his former Everton boss David Moyes, but in the summer he started a similar role with the Blues’ arch rivals Liverpool.

Arne Slot believes Ajax made a big mistake in letting him go, but the Reds manager may now face a battle to keep his assistant coach, a leading contender for the West Brom job, according to Football Insider.
West Ham attacker Mohamed Kudus described Heitinga as “the best trainer” he had during his spell at Ajax and he had a similar impact at the London Stadium where his relationships with players made him a likeable figure on the training ground.
Heitinga is the 5/2 favourite with football betting sites to become the next West Brom manager.
Tudor Dynasty At Hawthorns?
Igor Tudor has plenty of European experience as a head coach despite being in his mid-forties and is the 3/1 second favourite to manage in England for the first time in his career.
The Croatian has had two spells with Hajduk Split in addition to stints at PAOK, Galatasaray, Udinese, Verona, Marseille and most recently Lazio.
Tudor took over the Serie A side when Maurizio Sarri resigned in March, only to quit the club three months later over disagreements about transfer targets, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Possibly his greatest success was leading Marseille to third spot in the 2022/23 season which secured a place in the Champions League.
Upon his appointment, Tudor vowed to bring an “intensive” style of football to the Ligue 1 club and wanted supporters to be “entertained”, something that was perhaps missing under the possession-obsessed Corberan.
Tudor does not tend to stick around long at clubs, so it is surprising to see his odds so short for what would be his first position on these shores.
Robins Still On The Market
Mark Robins remains a free agent after his successful seven-year spell as Coventry boss came to an end in early November.
Robins led the Sky Blues to promotion from League Two to the Championship over three seasons and earlier this year engineered a run to the FA Cup semi-final where they were unlucky to lose to eventual winners Manchester United in a penalty shoot-out.
The former Red Devils, Norwich and Leicester striker has been linked with several vacancies since leaving City, but could he turn up at another West Midlands club?
BetVictor makes Robins 5/1 to be the Baggies’ next manager.
Martin Could Be Back In Management Soon
Russell Martin found the rigours of the Premier League too hot to handle and was sacked by Southampton in mid-December following a humiliating 5-0 home defeat by Tottenham, who scored all their goals in the first half.
However, it should not be forgotten that the former Norwich defender led the Saints to the top flight with a Championship play-off final victory over Leeds.
The Baggies board has set its sights on a similar outcome in May, so could Martin be the man to realise that dream?
Like Corberan, the ex-Scotland defender likes to play out from the back, tactics which are perhaps more suited to the second tier.
Martin can be backed at 8/1 with betting apps to get back on the managerial merry-go-round at The Hawthorns.
Manning And Cooper In The Frame
Bristol City are just a handful of points behind West Brom in the Championship table, but could their manager Liam Manning jump ship?
Despite being sacked by MK Dons two years ago, Manning’s impressive spell at Oxford caught the eye of the Robins, who appointed him manager almost 14 months ago.
Manning received much support from City after taking a leave of absence in November following the death of his new-born son, so it would appear unlikely that he would join the Baggies so soon after such a tragedy.
However, he is 9/1 with Ladbrokes for the West Brom job, slightly in front of ex-Nottingham Forest and Leicester manager Steve Cooper (10/1).
Elsewhere, David Moyes and Tony Mowbray are both 12/1, while former Wolves boss Gary O’Neil can be backed at 14/1.
Ex-Stoke manager Steven Schumacher and former Lyon head coach Fabio Grosso, now with Serie B side Sassuolo, are both 16/1, with former England and Chelsea defender John Terry just behind at 20/1.
