Tom Lee's Panel Tips For Sunday, December 29:

Exeter City Vs Crawley Town, Sunday, 3pm

Kicking off in League One, mid-table Exeter are a team that consistently see off lesser lights.

Gary Caldwell's 12th placed Grecians have repeatedly stepped up against teams in the lower half of the third tier, meaning not only do they have 30 points on the board, but they're also one of a cluster of sides eyeing the play-offs if they can kick on from here.

A goals for tally of only 22 suggests the Devon outfit may not possess the firepower to trouble the divisional big guns, and thus far results have backed that up, losing recently to nil against the likes of Stockport, Wrexham and Birmingham.

A stray point did come at home to slow starting Wycombe at the beginning of the month, but it's the outcome of games against sides around and below Exeter in the table which have helped their stability.

Since the very start of the season, home victories against Rotherham (18th), Stevenage (16th), Cambridge (22nd), Charlton (11th) and most recently, on Boxing Day, Bristol Rovers (19th) have been the key.

That festive success meant maximum points so far across the Christmas period following their 2-1 smash and grab away to bottom team Burton on Saturday 21 and the fixture computer has again been kind this Sunday, as the side in 21st, Crawley Town, come calling.

It's been a miserable few days for the West Sussex outfit, losing 1-0 at home to Birmingham in an encounter where they failed to muster a single shot on target.

That was before Leyton Orient used them for target practice on Boxing Day, scoring three of their 22 shots in a 3-0 drubbing.

Exeter away represents a 370-mile coach trip for a team out-of-sorts and it could be a quiet bus ride home for manager Rob Elliot's men.

They've only managed eight goals in 11 away games, and even three of those came in their 4-3 defeat at Charlton.

Exeter by contrast are on a roll, up into the top half, and can prepare for the New Year's Day visit to high-flying Wycombe by bagging another three points with football betting sites pricing them at 17/20 for the win.

Blackburn Rovers Vs Hull City, Sunday, 3pm

We'll head north to the Championship for leg two of this latest double, with fifth-placed Blackburn Rovers the 11/10 pick as they welcome out-of-sorts Hull City.

If not a fortress, Ewood Park has been more than a robust source of points for Rovers, picking up 23 of an available 33 to date this season.

Supporters celebrated their 90th-minute Boxing Day equaliser at home to Sunderland like a winner and this in a campaign where victories on home soil have arrived at the expense of some decent sides, notably Leeds United at the tail end of November.

A defeat at Millwall meant the month of December wasn't foot perfect, but like so many others in the second tier, Blackburn have found their form deserts them on their travels.

That's certainly an accusation which can be levelled at Sunday's visitors, Hull finding themselves down in 22nd position, partly due to having collected only eight points from a possible 33 away from home.

The decision to fire former boss Liam Rosenior at the end of last season after failing to make the play-offs looked an odd one at the time, and continues to do so given they're two managers further down the line, but have slipped from seventh to the relegation spots.

Current manager Ruben Selles has a big job on his hands, calling for Hull's players to be "more clinical" after the Boxing Day defeat at Preston, a game which one long-suffering North End fan described to me simply via text with the following: 'OMG! A turgid game!'.

Don't forget, in another drab encounter Blackburn beat Hull 1-0 on their own patch only three weeks ago, and at 11/10 on betting apps they look a strong pick to complete the double.
