Usyk Vs Fury Betting Tips: The Panel's Predictions For Rematch In Riyadh

The much-anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk takes place in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night and fans are in for a treat if the fight is as good as the first one.

Betting sites make Fury the 13/10 underdog to avenge his defeat from six months ago when the Ukrainian won by a split decision to end his opponent’s unbeaten record.

Unbeaten Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in almost 25 years with victory in Riyadh and he is the 5/6 favourite with William Hill to hang on to his WBA, WBO and WBC belts.

However, Usyk was forced to relinquish his IBF title following his win against Fury, so everything is not on the line at the Kingdom Arena, although the defending champion’s Ring Magazine heavyweight title is also up for grabs.

The Panel have looked at some of the talking points ahead of the fight and picked out a couple of Usyk vs Fury betting tips for this weekend.

The Panel's Usyk Vs Fury Betting Tips: Saturday, December 21:

Usyk Vs Fury Betting Tips: Play The Distance Game

Fury started the first fight as the 19/20 favourite, but there were several factors which conspired against him in May and his preparations certainly seem to be running a lot smoother this time.

The original bout had to be delayed by three months because of an eye injury sustained by Fury which prevented him from head sparring during the build-up.

His wife Paris was also not at his side, having suffered a miscarriage with their eighth child on the eve of the fight, although she kept the news from her husband and made up an excuse relating to her health to avoid telling him.

This time, Fury revealed he has not spoken to his wife in three months as part of his long training camp in Malta, but believes the sacrifices he has made will “all be worth it, 100 per cent”.

Many felt that the original fight should have been stopped late in the ninth round when Usyk caught Fury with a left hook which left the Briton staggering around the ring and seeking the ropes for support only to be saved by the bell after a standing count.

Fury was winning the fight until that point, but there were several occasions when he was playing the clown instead of concentrating on beating his tenacious opponent and he has vowed “to be more focused this time and not do as much showboating”.

The 36-year-old Lancastrian has watched their classic contest “a hundred times”, but insists he will not alter his tactics on Saturday.

He said: “I won’t change anything. Why would I when I had control of the fight for maybe 80% of it? I’m landing on him at will, head and body, lead right uppercuts, left hooks, right hooks to the body, doubles at times.

“I don’t need to change anything. I don’t think he can, either, because he ain’t going to outbox me on the back foot. He has to come forward and make a fight of it.”

Fury stands six inches taller and has a seven-inch reach advantage over his opponent, but the former undisputed world cruiserweight champion is exceptionally skilful and the smartest boxer the Brit has ever faced.

The Panel expect a more disciplined performance from Fury against the defending champion, who has never been knocked down as a pro.

With that in mind, The Panel think the fight will once again go the distance at 8/11 with betting apps for the first of Saturday’s Usyk v Fury betting tips.

Usyk landed more power punches during in the first fight (122-95), but aside from the ninth round it never felt that the Gypsy King was in trouble, something he raised when comparing Saturday’s rival with Deontay Wilder, who failed to beat Fury in three fights despite knocking him down four times.

Fury said: “Both are good fighters but when you’re in the ring with a prime Deontay Wilder, with his 42 KOs, you’re in trouble whether it’s round one or round 12 with two seconds to go. One mistake, it’s game over. With Usyk, I don’t feel that much terror. There’s no fear.”

That ninth round, which left Fury on “Bambi legs”, may well have tipped the balance in Usyk’s favour with the judges in what was otherwise a very close contest.

Fury told Sky Sports: “How about I took that 10-8 round away in round nine? It's not a draw anymore is it or a win by a point, it's a clear win. A little bit less fooling and a little bit more focus, laser focus and I should do the job."

With Fury fully focused, able to train properly and no more clowning around, The Panel believe the challenger can be crowned heavyweight champion again by split decision at 7/2 with boxing betting sites.
