Premier League Predictions Gameweek 17 - Brian McClair On The Panel

Brian McClair's Premier League Picks

Throughout the season, Manchester United and Celtic legend Brian McClair will be giving his predictions for every Premier League game.

In four seasons at Celtic, McClair made 471 appearances in all competitions and scored 127 goals, securing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA Cup while finishing as top-scorer for the Hoops on four occasions.

His prolific goalscoring record quickly attracted the attention of clubs south of the border and in 1987, McClair became Alex Ferguson's first signing at Manchester United, going on to win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.

Brian joins The Panel for the 2024/25 Premier League season and will pass expert judgement with his score predictions on all games whilst The Panel team will examine the best football betting sites to find the best odds should his predictions hit the back of the net.

Watch him discuss the games below and keep an eye on how Brian and The Panel get on each week throughout the season.

Crystal Palace Vs Arsenal, Saturday, 5.30pm

Saturday evening's game is a London derby which could have a huge bearing on both ends of the Premier League table.

The Gunners drew 0-0 with Everton on Saturday to drop more points in the Premier League title race and could not capitalise on Liverpool being held by Fulham.

Palace, meanwhile, continued their recent good form after a difficult season with a 3-1 win over rivals Brighton on Sunday to move up to 15th place.

Brian says: “Crystal Palace had an incredible win in this fixture away from home last season.

"Arsenal are in real need of a striker, they're creating plenty of chances but don't seem to have anyone to out the ball in the back of the net.

"That said, I'm going for an away win."

Tottenham Vs Liverpool, Sunday, 4.30pm

Tottenham will be hoping a recent upturn in fortunes will see them prevail against the early season pace-setters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou would have been nervous heading into last week's match against Southampton with his job arguably on the line, but his players responded to their disappointing London derby defeat against Chelsea with a thumping 5-0 win.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have dropped points in their previous two league matches after draws with Newcastle and Fulham last time out, leaving just a two-point gap between themselves and Chelsea, albeit with a game in hand after the Merseyside Derby was postponed.

Brian says: “Liverpool had two men sent off in this fixture last season and it took a late own goal from Joel Matip to secure the win for Spurs.

"Liverpool's discipline has been one of their best assets this season, but then they had Andy Robertson sent off early in the game with Fulham last week, but showed great spirit to come back and earn a point.

"Tottenham scored five first half goals for the first time ever in the Premier League as they demolished Southampton last week and I'm going to go for a Spurs win here."

Brian McClair's Panel Pick 2: Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool - 11/1 with Bet442
