Premier League Predictions Gameweek 14 - Brian McClair On The Panel

Brian McClair's Premier League Picks

Throughout the season, Manchester United and Celtic legend Brian McClair will be giving his predictions for every Premier League game.

In four seasons at Celtic, McClair made 471 appearances in all competitions and scored 127 goals, securing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA Cup while finishing as top-scorer for the Hoops on four occasions.

His prolific goalscoring record quickly attracted the attention of clubs south of the border and in 1987, McClair became Alex Ferguson's first signing at Manchester United, going on to win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.

Brian joins The Panel for the 2024/25 Premier League season and will pass expert judgement with his score predictions on all games whilst The Panel team will examine the best football betting sites to find the best odds should his predictions hit the back of the net.

Watch him discuss the games below and keep an eye on how Brian and The Panel get on each week throughout the season.

Everton Vs Wolves, Wednesday, 7:30pm

Everton were hammered 4-0 at Manchester United on Sunday and Sean Dyche was left to rue woeful defensive mistakes.

The Toffees have now gone five games without a win in the Premier League and sit just two points above the relegation zone as things start to get nervous again for Evertonians.

Wolves thought they were on track after back-to-back to wins but came thumping back down to earth with a bang as they lost 4-2 at home to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Brian says: “I don't think the scoreline at Old Trafford told the full story of the game as Everton had one or two early chances while all-four goals that United scored came from defensive errors.

"Despite winning two games on the bounce, there was quite a lot of anger from the Wolves fans when they lost to Bournemouth last week and I'm going for Everton to win this one too."

Newcastle Vs Liverpool, Wednesday, 7:30pm

League leaders Liverpool travel to struggling Newcastle on Wednesday evening as they look to tighten their grip on the Premier League title.

Arne Slot's men dealt a huge blow to Manchester City's title hopes with a 2-0 win over the faltering champions on Sunday to move nine point clear at the top.

A point at Crystal Palace was at least a slight improvement from last week's 2-0 home loss to West Ham United, but Newcastle's inconsistency is seriously harming their European aspirations.

Brian says: “Mo Salah has been in fine form, despite being out of contract, and whether he's playing for a new contract or just playing with freedom he's really enjoying his football.

"Newcastle managed just one attempt on goal at Selhurst Park and that resulted in the goal which almost won them the game but for a late equaliser.

"It might be my turn to jinx Liverpool this week, so I'm going a for a draw at St James' Park."

Arsenal Vs Man Utd, Wednesday, 8:15pm

Manchester United have enjoyed an unbeaten start under Ruben Amorim and next up is a trip to the Emirates for a huge Premier League clash with Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Both sides won emphatically at the weekend, as the Gunners crushed West Ham United 5-2 before the Red Devils put four past Everton without reply at Old Trafford.

Along with Brentford and Brighton, Arsenal are one of just three teams in the division with their unbeaten home record still intact, while it's a draw and a win for Amorim going to his third game in charge of the Red Devils.

Brian says: “United scored four goals against Everton without reply on Sunday but for me that flattered them.

"Arsenal were wonderful going forward against West Ham and Martin Odegaard was tremendous, showing everyone just how much they've missed him.

"However, they are still suspect at the back and that's why I can see there being goals at both ends in this one."
