US Open Golf Predictions:

Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy are among the favourites to win the US Open in Los Angeles this week.

Betting sites make Scheffler the clear frontrunner after displaying the sort of form that evokes Tiger Woods at the height of his powers.

The usual suspects have congregated near the top of the betting, and the likes of Koepka and Rahm will generate a great deal of hype in the build-up to the tournament.

However, you can find a lot more value if you look further down the list in search of intriguing each-way options.

We have identified four longer shots that have a great chance of storming to the top of the leaderboard in California.

Viktor Hovland: The Smart Choice For Your Each-Way Bets

The 25-year-old Norwegian has a golden opportunity to clinch his first major championship at the Los Angeles Country Club (LACC) this week.

He has secured a top-10 finish at the last three majors, and it seems like only a matter of time before he wins one.

Hovland ended up tied for fourth at last year’s Open Championship, and he was then T7 at the Masters earlier this year.

He was the first round leader at Augusta, and he spent most of the tournament in the top-five before eventually fading on the final day.

Hovland was then the runner-up at last month’s PGA Championship after shooting four very consistent rounds

He also likes playing in California: he finished T12 at the US Open as an amateur in 2019 when it was held at Pebble Beach, and he was second in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in 2021, while he has always performed well at Riviera.

Earlier this month, Hovland beat Denny McCarthy in a playoff to win the $20m Memorial Tournament - his fourth PGA Tour win and his first win in mainland USA - so he comes into the tournament in red-hot form.

That carried him up to No. 5 in the official world rankings, but you can still find 18/1 on golf betting sites available on him winning the US Open, which looks like a great each-way shout.

Max Homa: A Strong Contender For A Top Finish At The US Open

The stars have aligned perfectly for Homa to win his first major at the LACC this week.

The US Open takes place in his home city, and he is one of the few players with any experience of playing on this course.

He won the Pac-12 Championship by five shots there back in 2013 after opening with a course record 61.

As a professional, the world No. 7 has four wins in his home state, including a victory in the Farmers at Torrey Pines earlier this year.

Several elite Californians will vie for glory this week, including Xander Schaffele, Patrick Cantlay and Collin Morikawa, but Homa really stands out.

He is a world-class iron player, and his accurate approach play should stand him in good stead once again at the LACC, while he also boasts excellent scrambling ability and a strong short game

Homa’s only major weakness is inaccuracy off the tee, and that has caused him to struggle at the US Open in the past.

However, the fairways at LACC are a lot wider than the typical US Open course, which could end up negating that weakness.

As such, odds of 28/1 at Bet365 - which will give you a fifth of the odds on a top-eight finish if you go each-way - look very attractive.

Decoding The Odds: Denny McCarthy's Chance At US Open Glory

McCarthy makes an interesting long-shot after his strong showing in the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village at the start of June.

He finished level with Hovland on 7-under - one stroke clear of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler - in that tournament, before losing to his Norwegian rival in a playoff.

It means he is still chasing his first win on the PGA Tour, but McCarthy has all the necessary ingredients to be competitive at LACC this week.

He says he has played the course four or five times in the past, and he believes it is suited to his game.

McCarthy’s putter is certainly hot right now, and he also has a reasonably strong record in California.

He was T7 at last year’s US Open, his best showing in a major, and he could be a great long-shot at 125/1 with BetVictor

US Open Each-Way Pics: Why Justin Suh Deserves Your Attention

If you are looking for a real long-shot, look no further than the reigning Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year.

Suh was also born and raised in California, so he should relish the opportunity to return to his home state in a major championship.

He does not have much experience in big tournaments, but he finished T26 at the PGA Championship last month and T6 at the Players Championship earlier this year.

Suh was also fifth in the Honda Classic and 20th in the Farmers, so his name is becoming increasingly common on leaderboards.

Suh attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he emerged as a college star, and the conditions should suit him.

He is priced at 250/1 with 888sport, and that looks tempting on such a promising player.
