Cheltenham Day 3 Tips: David Mullins' Horses To Follow
Day Two was an interesting day at Cheltenham with the ground changing so much. It makes the job for punters harder when this happens, but it was a quality day of racing nonetheless.
I was delighted to see Energumene show his true abilities, giving Willie Mullins his first Champion Chase in the process!
Thursday is another interesting day of racing, and let’s just hope the ground dries out as the afternoon goes on.
Bob Olinger - 1:30 Turners Novices' Chase
Naturally the racing world and the best betting sites are very excited about Galopin Des Champs who has looked very good over fences so far, but I'd expect Bob Olinger to have too much for him.
Bob Olinger has beaten better horses and this trip will suit him more than Galopin Des Champs.
The latter is a future Gold Cup horse and Bob Olinger should have too much speed for him on the day, even allowing for the heavy ground. A race to savour!

Winter Fog - 2:10 Pertemps Handicap Hurdle
Winter Fog is a horse who I would love to win from a personal point of view. I was involved in buying Winter Fog for Emmet Mullins and Paul Byrne, and I fancy him to go very close.
He ran a massive first time out for his new connections at Leopardstown, and he should improve for that run as we know a lot more about him, and that run was his first effort after a break. He's a young, improving horse and I like him a lot for this.
Allaho - 2:50 Ryanair Chase
This race is quite straight-forward because I just don't see how Allaho is beaten.
He was simply brilliant in this race last year, and last time out at Thurles he beat a good field at ease. He's at a different level to the rest of this field in truth.
Flooring Porter - 3:30 Stayers' Hurdle
Gavin Cromwell made a very good start to his festival when Gabynako was a brilliant second in Tuesday's Arkle, and he can grab a winner in the Stayers' Hurdle again with Flooring Porter.
Horse racing betting sites see it as toss up, making Cromwell’s charge a 4/1 joint-favourite with Klassical Dream. But he won this race last year really impressively and he should be hard to stop again.
Last time at Leopardstown around Christmas time he was the best horse in the race, but the way that race worked out just didn't suit him. He has a big chance, and he won't mind the heavy ground at all.
Born By The Sea - 4:10 Festival Plate Handicap Chase
Born By The Sea looks a very big price in this, at 66/1 in places this morning. But he is the kind of handicapper I really like and he can run a huge race.
He showed his talent when taking a very competitive race at the Galway Festival last year and because of a few under-par efforts this year, he is on a very workable mark. He comes from a shrewd yard too.
Dinoblue - 4:50 Mares Novices' Hurdle
This is a very good contest this year, but Dinoblue might just be a step ahead of them.
That performance last time at Clonmel was electric and she blew me away. That is a very tough track to dominate like that and she was miles better than her decent rivals.
She has been well backed over the last few weeks and is now a shorter price, but she is that way for a reason.
Rightplacerightime - 5:30 Kim Muir Challenge Cup
Emmet Mullins might have a very good Thursday, and Rightplacerightime can cap it off.
He's a big price as he is talented, it's just his jumping lets him down a bit. The fences at Cheltenham are a bit easier than over in Ireland, so if he can get into a rhythm he could cause a bit of a shock at big odds.
Connections have booked Maxine O'Sullivan, who is a brilliant jockey, and hopefully they can go well together.
