On Friday, a week before the start of Euro 2024, Gareth Southgate will announce the 26 players he hopes will be able to give him his first major title, and England's first since 1966.

Southgate has until Friday night (June 7) to finalise the squad he wants to bring to Germany, and Gambling.com has collated prices from a number of UK betting sites to provide the percentage probability of each player in the provisional squad making it on the plane to Germany.

Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has already been told he won't make the final cut and he tweeted his disappointment at the news.

Harry Maguire confirmed he won't be on the plane to Germany becasue of a calf injury and it looks as though Jack Grealish will also be one of the seven to miss out. Liverpool pair Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah have also reportedly been cut from the squad.

The remaining candidates have been split into three categories of certainty based on their odds: 'waiting at the airport', 'going through departures' and 'on the plane'.

Trafford Left Waiting At The Airport

Grealish and Maguire were among a number of players whose places in Germany are most under threat, according to football betting sites

Grealish may have paid the price for not featuring as much as he would have liked for Premier League champions Manchester City, while Maguire's absence is believed to be due to a lingering calf injury sustained at the end of the season.

It’s highly likely that the other players Southgate cuts from his provisional squad are all from this group.

James Trafford’s potential place in Germany seems to be in serious jeopardy, with the young shot-stopper’s likelihood for inclusion at only 25%, which comes from odds of 3/1.

According to new betting sites Brighton defender Lewis Dunk and Brentford striker Ivan Toney are the next favourites to miss out on the final squad. Dunk’s price for inclusion is 8/11 (57.9%), while Toney is 4/6 (60%).

Despite a slight air of uncertainty, Jarrod Bowen, Adam Wharton and Luke Shaw will also hope they have done enough to book their Euro 2024 plane tickets. Bookies are giving 1/2 that each one makes the final squad, which has a 66.7% probability.

Liverpool duo Jones and Quansah were also in this category - before Wednesday morning’s reports that they would not be part of the Three Lions squad going to Germany.

Gordon And Others Hope To Go Through Departures

The 'Going Through Departures' section features 11 players who should be fairly confident of their place in England’s Euro 2024 squad, unless Southgate decides to spring an upset.

Anthony Gordon (1/4), Dean Henderson (1/5) and Eberechi Eze (1/6) are the players whose places are deemed to be most in danger in this group - with probabilities of making the squad of 80%, 83.3% and 85.7% respectively.

On the flipside, Chelsea duo Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher seem to have done enough to be included, after solid seasons for the west London club.

Betting apps also seem to think Marc Guehi, Ollie Watkins and Kobbie Mainoo have probably booked their places in Germany too. Maddison was a part of this category before being cut by Southgate.

Captain Kane Leads Players On The Plane

There are 10 players who can expect to represent England at Euro 2024 in Germany, and it would make headlines if they were cut from Southgate's initial squad.

Captain Harry Kane leads this group and is joined by first choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Phil Foden.
