F1 Odds & Betting Tips:

It was a nice double podium finish win last week for Red Bull. Lewis Hamilton denied them a 1-2 by finishing second, showing Mercedes can still be competitive in the remaining races.

Just two Grand Prix remain in the 2022 season but there’s still lots to race for in the Drivers’ Standings, despite Max Verstappen already securing top spot, while there’s plenty to bet on with Formula 1 betting sites.

Sergio Perez’s third place on his homecoming GP has put him five points ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

Drivers’ Standings

  1. Max Verstappen - 416
  2. Sergio Perez - 280
  3. Charles Leclerc - 275
  4. George Russell - 231

Ferrari finished fifth and sixth in Mexico and will need some improvements to compete with Red Bull and Mercedes.

And it’s clear Red Bull are aiming to fend off Leclerc in the final two races to further secure their domination in the 2022 season.

This could give the Mexican F1 driver the chance to secure at least a top two finish and makes him a great bet each-way for the Brazilian GP this weekend.

The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace or ‘Interlagos’ based in Sao Paulo is expecting rain for the penultimate race in the calendar which will make it another careful and tactical affair if it pours once more.

The odds are much more appealing for each-way or outright winners in Brazil in comparison to the Mexico City contest.

UK betting sites have, of course, got Verstappen as the clear odds-on favourite with Leclerc at 7/1 on William Hill and Unibet.

But Hamilton’s ascension in the latter stages this year makes him the dominant second favourite on most UK bookmakers at 13/2 on Paddy Power, Betfair and BetVictor.

With Ferrari finishing out of the bigger points last time, they need a big race and for Leclerc to at least finish in a better position to Perez to stand a chance of coming second with Abu Dhabi the final race of the year.

The Scuderia should suit the Interlagos track due to its high-downforce style, featuring a long straight but it might not be enough.

Verstappen was in form in Mexico, breaking records in the process of clearing further away as the champion with the best points tally scored in a season.

He also broke the record for most wins in a single season, which he could still add to. Will his domination continue or can others finally put a stop to this winning run?

Perez and Leclerc To Take Centre Stage?

One thing we haven’t seen for a little while is surprise top four exits and DNF’s which plagued the first stages.

And this weekend it really could come down to Verstappen surging further ahead with the battle between Perez and Leclerc.

Hamilton and Russell have consistently thrown a spanner into these kind of battles and even stand a chance at spoiling Ferrari’s hopes of finishing second – with the British drivers consistently getting podium finishes ahead of the Ferrari pair.

They’ve also been quite profitable in the betting over the last few weeks with the place and podium markets paying decent prices.

Podium finish odds on the best UK bookmakers give Russell a great price of 7/4 on William Hill.

However, the main bet has to go to Perez each-way in his pursuit of second in the Drivers’ Standings which can be found as high as 12/1 on Paddy Power and Betfair.

Although Russell claiming a podium spot is good value, the second bet of the weekend should go to Red Bull for the Qualifying Winning Team market which is as high as 11/10 this weekend on William Hill.

In fact, the chance of yet another Red Bull domination is boosted by the fact that Mercedes aren’t expecting much from this weekend.

Red Bull’s ability to be stronger in the final sector, coupled with the track suiting Ferrari could leave Mercedes behind this weekend. They could be up there in qualifying though.
