Who is Favourite in the Betting on Celebrity X Factor?
Headlines described it as everything between ‘Wildly Entertaining’ and ‘A Mockery of Real Talent Competitions’ but all that really matters is The X Factor: Celebrity is now ongoing and it will almost certainly be a volatile betting medium.
Indeed, viewers and punters already seem as divided as the TV critics and there has already been some dramatic market moves. Early favourites ‘Try Star’ made up of rugby players Levi Davis, Thom Evans and Ben Foden drifted dramatically after the opening night.
William Hill will now give you 6/1 about the trio despite them bringing the curtain down on the opening show – the first of two ‘audition’ programs in the new X Factor series.

Other acts to perform included journalist Martin Bashir and Jenny Ryan from The Chase. However, it was YouTube and Tik Tok legends Max & Harvey that found favour with punters.
After performing an admirable version of ‘I Don't Care’ by Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber they were bizarrely asked to perform another track by Judge Nicole Sherzinger.
The boys went on to rock the stage with ‘Sucker’ by the Jonas Brothers and this song also received wholesale approval. The duo are now industry top-priced 3/1 favourites.
Money For The Dark Horse
Megan McKenna will not ‘audition’ until next weekend albeit she has been subject of a string of bets. 9/2 was available when the markets opened but she’s as short at 3/1 and top-priced 7/2 with Paddy Power. Someone seemingly knows something.
At the other end of the betting spectrum Hayley Hasselhoff has drifted from 33’s to 100/1.
‘The Hoff’s’ daughter did take to the stage in Saturday’s show and she also left it …in tears.
It was akin to Watford chairman Elton John crying at the outset of his team’s appearance at the 1984 FA Cup final. He knew they were beaten before the game had started!
Additional Markets
Online bookmakers have introduced a number of additional markets beyond the simple ‘competition winners’.
Paddy Power have Max & Harvey 10/11 to be the ‘top group’ which puts them ahead of Try Star (2/1), V5 (9/2), The Love Islanders (7/1) and Brendan Cole & Jeremy Edwards (80/1).
In the ‘top overs’ category Victoria Ekanoye and Jenny Ryan are 6/4 joint favourites. Meghan McKenna is 10/11 in the ‘top unders’. The series continues on ITV this Saturday.
