Next Wolves Manager Odds: Vitor Pereira New Favourite To Replace Axed Gary O'Neil
Wolves are looking for a new manager after making the decision to sack Gary O'Neil.
O'Neil's side were beaten 2-1 at home to Ipswich, which was Wolves' fourth successive loss and left them in 19th place in the Premier League table.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at Molineux for the defeat to Ipswich and as a consequence was immediately installed as the favourite to fill the vacancy.
However, betting sites have a new frontrunner for the post and they will continue to update their odds on O’Neil’s replacement accordingly.
We look at the candidates in line to replace O'Neil in the Wolves dugout.

Pereira On Pole For Wolves Role
Wolves have reportedly wasted little time in singling out a replacement for O’Neil and as you might expect there is a Portuguese connection.
Vitor Pereira, coach of Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab, is thought to be in talks about taking the reins at Molineux and is 1/6 with betting apps to sign on the dotted line.
Pereira won the Primeira Liga in both of his seasons with Porto between 2011-13 and later tasted title success with Olympiacos and Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG.
Wolves would have to pay £800,000 in compensation to release him from his contract in Saudi, according to BBC Sport, but that is not thought to be a problem.
Should Pereira be appointed, he would become the third Portuguese to manage Wolves in the last seven years.
Moyes In The Mix For Wolves Role
David Moyes’ reputation has only grown since he left West Ham at the end of last season.
His former club are struggling without him, leaving Julen Lopetegui on the brink of the sack if reports are to be believed.
Moyes’ football might not be to everyone’s taste, but he did a fantastic job in his second spell at West Ham.
The Scot would get Wolves organised and stop them leaking so many goals (they are currently giving 2.5 per game on average).
However, his appointment would probably not set pulses racing at Molineux, and he would not necessarily be a long-term pick.
Moyes was 14/1 for the job last week, but his odds are now 6/1.

Corberan Losing Ground
Carlos Corberan has made Championship promotion hopefuls West Brom a very difficult side to beat which is exactly what Wolves need right now.
The Baggies have lost just three times this season, but 11 draws in 21 games mean they are eighth in the table.
The Spaniard helped Huddersfield reach the Championship play-off final in the 2021/22 campaign only to resign in the summer because he felt the club lacked ambition.
Corberan was one of the favourites to take over at Molineux when the news of O'Neil's dismissal broke, but he is now 12/1 with football betting sites.
Solskjaer Drifts Despite Molineux Presence
Was it just a coincidence that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at Molineux for O'Neil's last game in charge?
Ironically, Solskjaer watched as Jack Taylor came off the bench to score a late winner, which is something the Norwegian was famed for during his time at Manchester United.
He will have seen close up what needs to be done with the current Wolves squad and might just get a call from the board about filling the vacancy.
Solskjaer was the 2/1 favourite to replace O'Neil, but the emergence of Pereira has seen his odds lengthen dramatically to 16/1.
Cooper Hopes Fading
Steve Cooper is accustomed to battling at the wrong end of the Premier League table.
After guiding Nottingham Forest to safety in their first season back in the top flight, he was dismissed midway through last season.
He was most recently in charge of Leicester, but was sacked last month.
The key question now is whether Cooper will opt for a break from management or dive straight back in.
Cooper was 12/1 for the Wolves job with BetVictor, but those odds have amost tripled to 33/1 now that Pereira seems to be in the driving seat.
Martins Odds Lengthen
Pedro Martins was heavily linked with Wolves when Bruno Lage was sacked in 2022 and his name was once near the top of the list as a candidate to replace O’Neil before he was sacked.
The 50-year-old former Portugal midfielder enjoyed great success in Greece where he won the league title with Olympiacos in three of his four seasons only to be fired in 2022 following a 4-0 home defeat to Maccabi Haifa in a Champions League qualifier.
Martins also coached Portuguese sides Maritimo, Rio Ave and Vitoria Guimaraes, but is now the head coach of Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa.
Two years ago, Martins was said to have links with Mendes’ agency Gestifute which has close ties with Wolves in terms of recruitment.
Martins may welcome a new challenge in the world’s most demanding league, but he is out to 33/1, from 12/1, to make the move to Molineux.
Edwards In The Frame Despite Luton Woes
Rob Edwards is finding life back in the Championship a tough experience and as things stand Luton have more chance of being relegated than making an instant return to the Premier League.
What he achieved with the Hatters was nothing short of remarkable, though, and he is 14/1 for the Wolves job.
Elsewhere, Blackburn manager John Eustace and Bodo/Glimt coach Kjetil Knutsen are both 25/1.
Former Nottingham Forest and Leicester boss Steve Cooper and ex-Porto chief Sergio Conceicao have both drifted to 33/1.
Mark Robins, who enjoyed two promotions with Coventry, is a 40/1 outsider.
