Which Player Will Lose Their Premier League Charm First?
Erling Haaland took his total of league goals for the season to 18 with Manchester City's final goal in their 3-1 derby win over Manchester United.
It was also the 35th league game Haaland has scored in, and City have yet to lose any game in which Haaland has scored.
The Norwegian, who is favourite on UK betting sites to win this season's Golden Boot award, is one of six current players to have scored in 20 or more Premier League games and not tasted defeat once.
Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus leads the way with no defeats in any of the 60 league games in which he has found the back of the net.
Both Haaland and Jesus, who has returned from five weeks out injured, will hope their goals can lead their respective sides to a league title.
But who is most likely to lose his Midas touch first?
Erling Haaland
Since joining Manchester City ahead of the 2022/23 season, Haaland has set new records on a regular basis.
His total of 36 league goals last season set a new record and already this term, the Norwegian is leading the race for this season’s Golden Boot.
City are yet to lose a league or cup game when their goal machine has scored.
Haaland’s goals helped City win the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup last season, and his goals will be key as Pep Guardiola’s side chase another Treble.
The 23-year-old endured a frustrating in recent weeks missing a number of chances he would expect to score, but his goal against United got him back on track.
Haaland now has his sights set on the top of the table clash with Liverpool at Anfield, one of the few grounds in the league he has yet to score at.
Gabriel Jesus
To score in 60 Premier League games and not lose any is an incredible achievement and one that Jesus will look to maintain for the remainder of his Premier League career.
Jesus’ incredible record covers both his spells at Manchester City, who he left in the summer of 2022 to join his current club Arsenal.
In those 60 games, the 26-year-old has scored 73 goals and he has been on the winning side 55 times (91.7%). Will he find the back of the net at home to Brentford and keep his incredible run going?
The Brazilian scored Arsenal’s first goal in a 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest at the end of January, but a knee injury has sidelined him for the last five weeks.
Arsenal won the four league games without Jesus by a combined 18-2 total. Jesus played the final 26 minutes of the Gunners' 6-0 rout over Sheffield United, but he didn't manage to add to his goals tally.
There is a chance Jesus gets more game time against Brentford at the Emirates in a game the Gunners are favourites to win on football betting sites.
Gabriel Martinelli
Having one lucky charm in your team is priceless, having two is greedy.
Not only do Arsenal have Jesus to call on, but Gabriel Martinelli is another who doesn’t know what it’s like to lose a league game in which he has scored.
Martinelli has a lot of catching up to do to catch Jesus, but he’s off to a great start in his career.
The 22-year-old has 32 league goals to his name in 29 league games, and like Haaland, Martinelli has not lost a league or cup game in which he has found the back of the net.
Martinelli will be looking to continue his Midas touch when the Gunners host Brentford looking for the win that will see them climb to the top of the Premier League overnight.
Diogo Jota
Diogo Jota is becoming a very instrumental member of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side. When he scores in the league, the Reds never lose.
It was the same story when the Portuguese played for Wolves, before Liverpool signed him for £40m in September 2020.
Jota has scored 57 goals in 45 Premier League games for both clubs and has yet to be on the losing side.
His most recent goal was the opener for the Reds in their 3-1 home win against Burnley.
However, a knee injury sustained at Brentford on February 17 ended Jota's season prematurely.
James Milner
As James Milner continues in his 22nd season of top flight football, the 38-year-old is a valuable player for Brighton.
It’s no surprise to see Milner on our list, and his achievement of never losing a Premier League game in which he has scored might remain intact for the remainder of his career.
Milner, who has played for Leeds, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton, last celebrated a goal in Liverpool’s 4-0 league win at Leicester on Boxing Day 2019, over 100 games ago.
There is a chance Milner never scores another goal in his career and he can carry his remarkable record into retirement.
Seamus Coleman
One of the best value for money transfers in the history of the Premier League has to be Seamus Coleman.
Everton paid Sligo Rovers £60,000 for the defender and over 415 games later, the 35-year-old is still going strong.
Two goals in his last five seasons suggests Coleman's days of celebrating a goal are behind him, especially as those two goals were scored in successive seasons against Leeds.
Coleman has scored 22 league goals for the Toffees and Everton have won 17 and drawn five. Does Coleman have one more league goal in him?
