Dele Alli Next Club Odds: Leicester And Celtic Head Field For Everton Man
Everton midfielder Dele Alli made a welcome appearance on Monday Night Football this week and the best betting sites have opened a market on where he will be playing football next season.
A combination of off-field issues and a long-term injury have halted Dele’s career over the last few years.
He played 13 times for Besiktas in Turkey last season, but the club cut short his loan deal and sent him back to Merseyside. Dele has not started a game for Everton since the end of the 2021-22 season.
Out of contract in the summer, the former England international is likely to be plying his trade elsewhere next season.
Dele was tight-lipped on his future during a chat with Sky pundit Jamie Carragher, but he believes he can still shine at the highest level.
“I know my level as a player, I know where I can get to and how good I can be when my head is in the right place,” he told Sky Sports, before revealing that he is targeting a place in England’s 2026 World Cup squad.
Where will Dele be playing his football in 2024/25? Let’s take a look at the market offered by betting apps.
Leicester And Celtic Lead Dele Market
Leicester City are the odds-on favourites to sign Dele at odds of 5/6. Of course, much will depend on whether the Foxes get over the line in their Championship promotion push.
If his side do return to the Premier League, Enzo Maresca will be keen to add to his squad. As long as he proves his fitness, Dele could be on Leicester’s wish list.
The 28-year-old midfielder revealed on Monday that he once met then-Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers ahead of a potential move from MK Dons to Anfield. Rodgers’ current club Celtic are available at 2/1 to sign him this summer.
Leeds And Ipswich Pursuits Depend On Promotion
Leeds (3/1) and Ipswich (9/2) are both seen by new betting sites as potential destinations for Dele.
Like Leicester, though, much will depend on whether they are successful in their bid to secure promotion to the top flight.
Dele’s natural talent is obvious - he was one of the best young players in Europe during his pomp at Tottenham - and his experience of the Premier League would be useful to a promoted club too.
Right now, though, it is hard to know whether Leeds or Ipswich are viable destinations given the uncertainty over which division they will be in next term.
Crystal Palace And Fulham Would Offer Return To London
Dele scored perhaps the best goal of his career to date against Crystal Palace, and the Eagles are available at 7/1 to sign him this summer.
Oliver Glasner will be keen to revamp the Palace squad in his image ahead of next season and it is not too hard to envisage Dele playing in one of the narrow forward roles that the Austrian manager favours.
Fulham are an interesting choice at 8/1. Both they and Palace would allow the attacking midfielder to return to London, something he may welcome.
Brentford And Return To Tottenham Outside Picks
Brentford took a huge step towards Premier League survival last time out with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United. The club will soon be able to turn their focus to summer recruitment and football betting sites are offering 10/1 on the Bees landing Dele.
Football romantics everywhere would love to see Dele embark on a second spell at Tottenham. In reality, though, it is hard to see that happening just yet.
A return to the white-and-navy half of north London could be possible some time down the line, but Tottenham will be wary of taking a risk on a player who has not had much action over the last two years. Spurs are outsiders at 12/1 with UK bookmakers.
Chelsea And Saudi Arabia Moves Unlikely
Chelsea have not been shy when it comes to bringing in players under Todd Boehly and his consortium, but they could be set for a quieter summer at Stamford Bridge this time around.
It is not beyond the realms of possibility that Mauricio Pochettino seeks a reunion with Dele in west London, but odds of 14/1 indicate it is unlikely.
So too is a move to Saudi Arabia, priced at 20/1. The money on offer in the Pro League is hard for many players to turn down, but Dele seems focused on landing a Premier League deal.
