Dominic Solanke Next Club Odds: Arsenal Favourites To Buy The Striker
Dominic Solanke is enjoying a fantastic season and the best betting sites believe he could be on the move soon.
The Bournemouth striker has scored 12 Premier League goals so far this campaign, a tally that only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah have bettered.
Solanke was tipped for a bright future during his time at Chelsea and Liverpool, but he never quite made it at either club.
It is fair to say it has taken the 26-year-old time to find his feet at the highest level, but he is thriving this term under Andoni Iraola.
Could Solanke be on the move this month? Let’s take a look at the odds before considering the contenders to sign him.
Arsenal Could Launch Move For Solanke This Month
Football betting sites have Arsenal down as the favourites to land Solanke, although odds of 8/1 suggest this is by no means a certainty.
The Gunners’ Premier League title tilt has faltered of late, with back-to-back defeats by West Ham United and Fulham seeing them slide to fourth in the standings.
Arsenal are struggling to put the ball in the back of the net this term, with six sides having outscored them so far.
It is an issue Mikel Arteta is keen to address, perhaps by signing a centre-forward who is more prolific than Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, his two current options.
Ivan Toney has been linked and Solanke may also be under consideration, especially as Brentford are set to demand £80m for their most prized asset.
Tottenham May Look To Bolster Their Forward Line
Betting apps believe Tottenham could also be in the market for Solanke in the winter window, giving them a 10/1 shot of landing the one-time England international - who will be targeting a first appearance for the Three Lions since 2017 in March.
Spurs sold Harry Kane in the summer and did not directly replace him.
Son Heung-min has spent much of this season playing through the middle, but Richarlison has moved there of late.
The Brazilian is yet to convince and Tottenham may look to secure an upgrade in January, especially as Son is off to the Asian Cup.
Solanke would no doubt consider joining Ange Postecoglou’s side, who could be playing Champions League football next season.
Newcastle Seen As Outsiders To Land Solanke
At a price of 16/1, Newcastle are only outsiders to win the race for Solanke.
It is not even clear that they need him right now: Alexander Isak is an excellent striker and Callum Wilson is a more-than-able deputy.
The latter turns 32 next month, however, and he has a long history of injury problems.
Moreover, Newcastle cannot afford to stand still if they are to continue progressing.
The addition of Solanke would give them another option up front for the second half of the season, during which time Newcastle must make up considerable ground if they are to qualify for the Champions League.
Yet although the Magpies are in effect owned by Saudi Arabia, they do not have limitless money to spend this month due to Financial Fair Play considerations.
Brighton Would Offer The Striker A Step Up
Brighton have been the Premier League’s most successful side when it comes to recruitment over the last few years.
The Seagulls have unearthed numerous gems from around the world, before selling them on for a healthy profit.
All this has been done while Brighton have continued to get better on the pitch.
Roberto De Zerbi recently admitted that Brighton will struggle to keep hold of Joao Pedro, while Evan Ferguson has also been linked with the exit door.
Perhaps, then, Albion will consider a swoop for Solanke. They are available at 16/1 with new betting sites to sign him in January.
Bournemouth Stay Most Likely - Until Summer At Least
The most probable outcome is that Solanke will stay at Bournemouth, at least until the summer.
It will be tough for the Cherries to keep hold of the striker if he goes on to score 20 goals this season, but they will be loath to lose him midway through the campaign.
Solanke signed a new deal at the Vitality Stadium in September, with his current contract set to expire in 2027.
That gives Bournemouth a degree of power in determining his future and they are not under any financial pressure to cash in this month.
As such, we should expect Solanke to continue plying his trade for Iraola’s side for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
