England Vs Slovenia Euro 2024 Prediction: The Panel's Best Bets, Tips And Preview

England Vs Slovenia Predictions

England have faced a volley of criticism for their performances at Euro 2024, but they will be hopeful they can silence their doubters against Slovenia on Tuesday night (8pm, ITV 1).

Gareth Southgate’s men put in a limp display against Denmark last time out and were fortunate to take a 1-1 draw from the contest in Frankfurt.

England still only need a point to guarantee their spot in the round of 16, but after two discouraging performances, fans and pundits alike will be demanding an improvement in the final group game.

Slovenia have had a solid campaign, but likely need a victory to secure a spot in the knockout phase. They’ve drawn both Group C matches to date, although they were extremely unfortunate to concede a late goal to Serbia last time out.

The Panel have noted the form of both teams ahead of the contest and have made three betting predictions using the best odds from UK betting sites.

England vs Slovenia Prediction: Three Lions Back On Track

England put forward a poor performance in their draw with Denmark. After taking the lead, Southgate’s men sat back and allowed the Danes to level through Morten Hjulmand and were at the mercy of their opponents for the rest of the contest.

Unsurprisingly England were roundly criticised, notably captain Harry Kane, despite scoring his side’s goal.

Southgate may have to alter the shape of his side to get the best out of the forward, who has looked off the pace in the opening two matches. Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden were also anonymous, while Declan Rice was another underperformer.

England’s displays have seen their odds to win Euro 2024 drift on football betting sites into second favourites behind France. However, it only takes one good display for a team to spark into life, and Southgate will be hopeful that will come against Slovenia.

Achieving that against a side that have been performing well in the Euros could be a tough task. Slovenia have two standouts in the form of Jan Oblak and Benjamin Sesko, who can cause England problems at either end of the pitch.

The Panel are expecting England to have to grind out another result as Slovenia will not give them space to roam in the final third.

On the other hand, even with Sesko, they’re not expecting England to have too much to worry about. The Panel like the odds for England to win to nil at Evens with BetVictor that could give them a shot in the arm ahead of the round of 16.

England vs Slovenia Betting: A Response From Kane?

Kane’s performance came under scrutiny more than most. He made the error that allowed Hjulmand to equalise for the Danes, which highlighted two problems that England had in the contest.

Kane’s pass was inaccurate, but he also made the offload from a left-back position. The Three Lions need their main man operating on all cylinders in the final third and putting pressure on opposing defenders, not dropping back into a defensive role.

He may also need support from his teammates to capitalise on space in behind.

For all the criticism, Kane did find the back of the net against Denmark with a trademark clinical finish from close range. The issue has been creating opportunities for him to cash in. The Panel believe that it could be only a matter of time before Kane cuts loose.

He arguably could have two goals if not for a fine save from Serbia keeper Predrag Rajkovic and the bookies still have him as the favourite to be the tournament's top goalscorer.

The Panel are keeping faith with the England skipper and are taking odds of 6/4 for Kane to register two shots on target or more as they expect him to come out eager to prove a point.

The Panel Tip: Harry Kane Over 1.5 Shots On Target – 6/4 With 10Bet

England vs Slovenia Tips: Gallagher In Focus

Conor Gallagher has been used as a substitute in England’s opening two matches of the tournament, but reports suggest that he will be given the nod to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in the middle of the park.

He made an impression against Denmark, receiving a booking early into his cameo. Gallagher always toes a fine line with officials. No player in the Premier League committed more fouls than the Chelsea man last season.

He certainly catches The Panel’s eye for value on betting apps for both the fouls and card markets. He averaged over two fouls per game for Chelsea in the Premier League, so a price of 4/5 could be worth a look for him to replicate that form against Slovenia.

But, The Panel are backing odds of 6/1 for Gallagher to be carded on Tuesday night, which looks a big price considering his love of a challenge.

The Panel Tip: Conor Gallagher To Be Carded – 6/1 Bet365
