Enzo Fernandez Next Club Odds: Atletico Madrid Favourites To Sign Him

Enzo Fernandez helped Argentina win back-to-back Copa America titles, thanks to their 1-0 win over Colombia in the final in Miami.

However, the celebrations were marred by a video posted on Fernandez's Instagram account, showing the Chelsea midfielder and other team-mates singing a song that the French Football Federation said included alleged "racist and discriminatory language". 

The video has been condemned by some of his club colleagues and places the Argentine, and Chelsea, in a very difficult situation.

UK betting sites believe Fernandez's future might lie away from Chelsea, who he joined from Benfica for £107m in February 2023.

Fernandez issued an apology on his social media platforms, but FIFA have started an investigation into the incident.

Atletico Madrid could be a possible landing spot for Fernandez, if his future lies away from Stamford Bridge. 

Diego Simeone's side finished a disappointing fourth in La Liga last season, 19 points behind their neighbours and champions Real Madrid. 

Atleti also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they were beaten 5-4 on aggregate by Borussia Dortmund, who scored twice in the final 19 minutes to seal the comeback win.

Magpies Could Swoop For Midfielder

Newcastle struggled to cope with the rigours of playing Champions League football last season and their form dipped as they finished seventh.

Manchester United's success in the FA Cup ended Newcastle's hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.

After participating in Europe's elite club competition, the goal is to return immediately. With no European football to distract them, the Magpies should be challenging for a top-four finish.

Fernandez may have won the World Cup and back-to-back Copa America titles, but he will want to add to his one and only success in Europe, which was helping Benfica to the title prior to his move to Chelsea. 

Manchester United Would Make Sense

Barcelona Could Be Fernandez's Next Club

Adding Fernandez to a midfield that already boasts Gavi, Pedri and teenage sensation Lamine Yamal would certainly help Flick make Barcelona (7/1) a force once again. 

A Move To The MLS Might Appeal To Fernandez

Similar to the Saudi Pro League, the MLS is always looking for players to raise the profile of the league across the globe. 

Perhaps a move to the United States appeals to Fernandez, but at 23, it's probably too early to be talking about that.
