19:50 Windsor – Sarah’s Verse – 1pt @ 18/1

Sarah’s Verse could be worth chancing at a big price. She has been below her best since winning at Bath in April but seemed to be in better form at Newbury last time, running on from a sit in rear to finish little more than a couple of lengths off the winner. Her positioning didn’t help, the race developing before she had a chance to get rolling properly, and I’d be inclined to upgrade the effort.

Her running style does add problems that could surface again but she won’t mind switching over to Windsor, a track she scored at last August. That was over 5f on quicker ground than she’ll get here but an easy 6f isn’t an issue and her Bath win came on soft (over 5f, admittedly) so any rain won’t hold her back. I just think she’s overpriced at 18/1 and could be involved if she finds a nice rhythm early.

20:50 Windsor – Dourado – 1pt @ 18/1

Dourado had been on a losing run that stretched back over five years before he returned at Kempton in May. The market hinted that he might do something and proved to be correct, with a relatively comfortable success coming his way. He didn’t pull up too many trees at Lingfield on his sole start since but the winner bolted up by 12-lengths and he wasn’t too far away from the second.

He’ll need to be a lot better to be competitive in this but shaped well on soft ground at this track last October and has some other good course efforts on his slate from higher marks. He’s limited these days and is getting plenty long enough in the tooth, but 0-60’s are well within range if he’s on a going day and things go to plan in-running. I’ll take a punt in hope more so than expectation!
