Liam Delap Next Club Odds: Brentford Lead Chase For Ipswich Striker
Liam Delap has made a fine start to the season despite Ipswich’s struggles, and the UK betting sites have opened a market on his next move.
The Tractor Boys are yet to win a game in the Premier League following their promotion last term. A record of five draws and five defeats has left Kieran McKenna’s team in the bottom three ahead of this weekend’s clash with Tottenham.
Delap has been a rare highlight, though, scoring five times in his 10 outings. The former Manchester City man has been responsible for exactly half of his team’s goals, underlining his importance to Ipswich.
It is hard to see Town avoiding relegation unless Delap continues scoring goals.
If Delap keeps this up, he could seek pastures new sooner rather than later. In this article we have taken a look at the contenders for his signature.

Bees Lead The Way For Delap Signature
Brentford are the 7/4 favourites to sign Delap, according to betting apps.
The Bees recently saw the striker’s talents up close and personal when Delap came off the bench to equalise against Thomas Frank’s team.
With Bryan Mbeumo being linked with a move away from the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford could view Delap as a potential replacement.
Ipswich are unlikely to sell in January, so much will depend on whether or not they are relegated this term. The main issue for Brentford is that they could struggle to match the wages offered by other Premier League clubs.
Aston Villa Could Be In The Mix
Aston Villa have two fantastic strikers on their books in Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran.
The former remains Unai Emery’s first-choice pick at the top of the pitch, but Duran is doing all he can as a deputy. However, the Colombian will want regular starts sooner rather than later, so Villa may be forced to make a choice between the two forwards at some point.
At that point Delap could emerge as a possible target for Villa, who can be backed at 2/1 with football betting sites to land the 21-year-old forward.
If Delap continues finding the back of the net on a regular basis for Ipswich, he will convince the likes of Emery that he can do a job at this level.

Toffees Hope To Have Cash To Splash
Everton endured a difficult summer as their takeover saga dragged on which meant manager Sean Dyche did not have much money to spend.
Despite the Toffees bringing in £70m from the sales of Amadou Onana, Ben Godfrey and Lewis Dobbin, they only spent £40m on new additions.
The Friedkin Group has now agreed a deal to buy the club, though, so Everton may be able to loosen the purse strings next summer.
A striker is likely to be at the top of their wish list given injury-plagued Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s continued struggles in front of goal, with Delap rated at 5/2 to move to the blue half of Merseyside.
In-Form Nottingham Forest An Option
Nottingham Forest are a 3/1 shot to sign Delap, who signed a five-year contract at Ipswich in the summer.
Chris Wood is in the form of his life and scoring goals for fun for Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying side, while the talented Taiwo Awoniyi is waiting in the wings in case he is needed.
Wood turns 33 in December, however, so Forest will have to start planning for life after the New Zealand international before too long.
Delap could be one of the names on their shortlist, especially if he can maintain his current form for the next few months.
Seagulls Could Swoop For Delap
Brighton have a knack for spotting talent and it would not be a surprise if they were aware of Delap’s talent before this season.
With Danny Welbeck nearer the end of his career than the start, there could be an attacking vacancy at the Amex Stadium next summer, even with Evan Ferguson still on the books.
Brighton are priced at 5/1 to sign Delap, who has won eight caps for England’s Under-21s and will no doubt be targeting a call-up to the senior squad this season.
Delap’s link-up play is also impressive, so it is not hard to imagine him playing for a team like Brighton.
