Manchester City's quest to win five successive Premier League titles begins at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea are waiting for them.

Compared to the treble-winning campaign in 2023/24, last season would have been a disappointment for Pep Guardiola and his players as they only got their hands on the Premier League trophy.

Guardiola will have his troops fired up to improve on their trophy haul this term and they start as favourites on football betting sites for all four competitions.

But how many will they win? We take a closer look.

City Motivated To Win Historic Quadruple

No English team has ever won the quadruple, which shows just how hard it is to achieve. Manchester City won the treble a couple of seasons ago, landing the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

The League Cup is arguably the easiest of all four trophies to win, but after winning it five times in six seasons, including four in a row, City have gone three years without winning it.

Winning all four trophies would add to Guardiola's legacy. Doubts remain about how much longer the Spaniard will stay at the Etihad; his contract is due to expire next summer.

Completing the quadruple would be the perfect note on which to sign off as City manager, but there is a lot of football to play before that.

City can be backed at 50/1 on the best betting sites to complete an historic quadruple.

Cup Treble Would Be Quite The Achievement

City are used to collecting trophies and after winning just one last term, they will be the team to beat in every competition they enter.

With 38 hurdles to overcome, the Premier League is the hardest of the four trophies to win, although City have made it look easy in recent times.

Their name is on the trophy six times in the last seven seasons, and they are favourites to extend their dominance in the competition.

Arsenal have been their closest rivals in each of the last two seasons, coming to within five and two points respectively. The Gunners will hope it's third time lucky this time around.

If City miss out on the league title, they are 25/1 on betting apps to be cup kings and win the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.

Domestic Treble Is Within City's Grasp

The Champions League is revamped for the forthcoming season with 36 teams taking part, an increase of four.

The new format will see the group stage replaced by a league format, with eight opponents - four at home and four away. It might take some getting used to, which could affect City's chances of winning it for a second time.

If they fall short in Europe, they will want to ensure they rule England. They are 20/1 to win all three domestic trophies available - the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.

A Second Treble In Three Seasons Would Be Historic

Only two English clubs have completed the treble, and they are both from Manchester.

Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United became the first side to do so in 1999, beating Bayern Munich 2-1 in the final of the Champions League in Barcelona to complete the historic achievement.

In 2023, Guardiola's side followed their neighbours, beating Inter 1-0 in the Champions League final to add their name to the elusive list.

Last term, City fell at the final stage of the FA Cup and the quarter-final stage of the Champions League, where Real Madrid ended their hopes. But many of this current squad know what it takes to win the treble.

City are 16/1 to complete a second treble and they are the same odds to win the Premier League, Champions League and League Cup.

Any Double Would Be A Disappointment

It shows how high Guardiola has set the standards at the Etihad that a double of any sort will be seen as a failure. For any other club a double would be a resounding success.

City are 10/1 to win the FA Cup and League Cup and 9/1 to win the Champions League and League Cup. The odds are the same for City to win the Champions League and FA Cup while landing the Premier League and FA Cup can be backed at 6/1.

The odds for a Premier League and League Cup double are 11/2 on new betting sites, while it's 9/2 for the Cityzens to win the Premier League and Champions League.

If you have a free bet to use, why not use it on City winning multiple trophies.

Whatever City achieve this season, they will have to do it without Julian Alvarez, who joined Atletico Madrid for £82m.
