Newcastle Vs Tottenham Betting Tips: 3 Panel Selections For Sunday's Game

Newcastle and Tottenham have produced plenty of goal-laden matches in the last few years and betting sites find these two teams difficult to split in terms of odds.

The Magpies have won this fixture by a 10-1 aggregate in the last two seasons and are 6/4 to make it three in a row, but Spurs are not far behind at 8/5 with Coral.

The Panel expect more thrills and spills on Sunday afternoon and have three selections for the game at St James’ Park.

Newcastle Vs Tottenham Betting Tips: Go For First-Half Goals

At least two goals to be scored in the opening 45 minutes would have paid out in the last seven Premier League meetings between these teams.

Newcastle were the top scorers outside the top three last season and Spurs only know how to play one way under attack-minded coach Ange Postecoglou.

Another exciting opening half is expected this weekend, so +1.5 goals before the break at Evens with William Hill is the first Newcastle vs Tottenham prediction from The Panel.

Newcastle Vs Tottenham Odds: Play Your Cards Right On Burn

There have been at least four goals in six of the past seven contests between these sides at an incredible average of 4.85 per game, so the crowd is likely to be treated to another exciting clash on Tyneside.

That said, none of the betting apps have taken the risk of pricing this match at Evens or better on the +3.5 market which is disappointing considering Newcastle’s first three matches in all competitions have produced a total of just five goals.

If you wish to back that market, BetMGM are offering 49/50, but The Panel will look elsewhere for the next of their Newcastle vs Tottenham predictions and reckon they have found some great value on Dan Burn to be shown a card.

The former Brighton player’s lack of pace was exposed in a left-back role last season which has forced Eddie Howe to pitch him in the heart of defence in all three games.

Burn was booked in both Premier League matches against Southampton and Bournemouth, and he is expected to have his hands full trying to deal with Tottenham attacking from all angles.

The 32-year-old defender has already committed five fouls – a joint-high for Newcastle alongside Joelinton – and he is likely to come under scrutiny from referee Robert Jones this weekend.

Only Anthony Taylor (132) and Simon Hooper (113) brandished more yellow cards than Jones (99) in the Premier League last season.

Admittedly, Burn escaped Jones’ attention in the 2023-24 campaign, but may not be so lucky now that he is playing in a new position.

Burn to be shown as card at 23/5 with BetMGM is the next of The Panel’s Newcastle vs Tottenham predictions and looks a good prospect if you have some free bets.

Newcastle vs Tottenham Betting Tips: Romero Can Go For Goal

Both teams to score and at least three goals has only once failed to pay off in the past seven encounters which came in last season’s corresponding fixture when Newcastle ran out 4-0 winners.

The price on that market is generally odds against, but because these teams have been so prolific recently in past meetings, new betting sites are only offering 11/20 on that outcome.

In terms of value, The Panel are drawn towards the shots on target market and in particular Cristian Romero.

The Argentinian centre-back opened his account for the season with the third goal in a 4-0 victory over Everton during which he also had another effort on target.

Romero scored five goals last season, two of which came in the opening four games, so hopefully he can get off to another fast start in the current campaign.

Some football betting sites are only offering 2/1 on Romero to have a shot on target, so The Panel are happy to accept the 19/5 available with Unibet.
