Next Carlisle Manager Odds: Ian Evatt Favourite For Role

Carlisle United are looking for their third manager of the season after sacking Mike Williamson and betting sites are already offering a market on his replacement.
Former Newcastle defender Williamson lasted just four months as United manager, who are rock bottom of the English Football League.
He departs with Carlisle five points off safety in League Two having only been appointed on September 19 after leaving MK Dons to replace Paul Simpson and managed just five wins from 25 matches.
His dismissal is not surprising given the Cumbrian team's awful run of form but it is strange that they allowed him to make 12 signings in the transfer window before wielding the axe.

It's understood the Blues remain keen to secure their new head coach in the build-up to Saturday's trip to Grimsby Town.
Preparations for the trip to Blundell Park are continuing with Williamson's backroom team understood still to be in place.
With 18 games remaining and relegation a real possibility, time is of the essence and Gambling.com have taken a look at some of the names in contention to replace Williamson.
Evatt Eager For Swift Return
Ian Evatt has been installed as the favourite to replace Williamson and is currently 4/5 with betting apps.
He was dismissed by Bolton last month with the club three points outside of the play-off places in League One, after a run of just two wins in nine league matches.
He’d previously led the club to promotion from League Two at the first time of asking back in 2021, before securing a ninth-place finish on their return to League One.
In the last two campaigns, the 43-year-old led the Trotters to the play-offs on both occasions, but could not get over the line and seal a return to the Championship, with a disappointing defeat to Oxford United in last year’s final at Wembley.
Brady Bound For Cumbria?
Jon Brady resigned from League One club Northampton in December after three-and-a-half years in charge and is now the 5/6 second favourite with football betting sites.
Australian Brady, who succeeded Keith Curle at the Cobblers in 2021, led the club to the League Two play-offs in his first full season in charge, followed by automatic promotion the following campaign.
Last season he guided Northampton to a 14th-placed finish in League One, but they were 21st when he stepped down in December, and he's now looking for his next opportunity.
Deeney To Decide On His Next Move
Troy Deeney's only managerial experience to date came at Forest Green Rovers during their time in League Two, stepping up from player-coach to be full-time boss in December 2023.
But he was sacked in January 2024 after just six matches in charge and Rovers went on to be relegated with the former Watford striker failing to register a victory.
He initially claimed that he had no desire to return to the dugout, but asked by talkSPORT recently if he were to get back into managing, the former Birmingham captain replied: “When I go back into management.”
If that was a hint that he's ready to resurrect his management career, he can currently be backed at 3/1 in the next Carlisle manager market.
Cattermole A Coach With Ambition
Former Middlesbrough and Sunderland man Lee Cattermole (4/1) joined Bristol Rovers last December as a member of the coaching team, but just four days later was named as interim boss after the sacking of Matt Taylor.
Having hung up his boots in 2020 he moved into coaching at former club Middlesbrough, before becoming boss of their under 18s side.
He was also part of the interim coaching team that took charge after Chris Wilder was sacked as Middlesbrough boss in 2022, but will surely be looking for a management role in his own right soon.
Other names in the frame include current York City manager Adam Hinshelwood (6/1), former Carlisle man Kieth Curle (7/1), Andy Woodman (9/1), Leam Richardson (11/1), Mark Warburton (12/1) and Neil Warnock (14/1).
